Neighbors with nothing better to do?
I went to drop my kids off at Prek today but had to turn around because I realized I forgot their backpacks...anyway I pull up and there is a man with a camera in front of my house. He has a badge on his jacket sleeve.
It turns out he his from the Suffolk County SPCA one of my neighbors complained that I went on vacation and left my dogs home.
We went away for 3 days and my Inlaws who live 10 blocks a way went there twice a day to feed them and let them out.
The guy asked me some questions, took a picture of the dogs and left.
I feel so violated. Like this person is watching every move.
If they were watching...wouldn't they realize that they were various cars at my house for a certain amount of times....and how did they know we went away? Did they watch us put suitcases in the car? Very creepy.

neighbors suck  i know from experience... we have an old lady that lives next door and looks in our windows!!!!
do you know who it was? if you do, i would go to their house and tell them that if they have a concern, then they should speak to you directly!

No I don't. The man said they wouldn't leave a name but they got their number from the caller id.
It just bothers me that people would think I would leave my dogs home for a few days without having someone care for them. I mean really....do they think I want to come home to a big mess in the house?

Honestly, my first reaction when I read this was I would have been POed. But then I thought about it, and if they tried to knock on your door to talk to you & you weren't there to answer more than one day, then they did what they thought was best for the dogs. Of course, the assumption is that you are not doing the right thing; and I can see how that hurts, but the big picture I think is that they were concerned and took action to help.
I am sorry you feel violated though. That definitely does not feel good, no matter what the intention.
