Nervous Breakdown Time - DAY CARE?
I am seriously ready to have a nervous breakdown over day care ... They just do not have facilities in Queens like they do in Long Island or New Jersey ... the only 'real' daycare I am interested in is booked for over a year and is not even taking names for a wait list at this point. Everything else I find seems very shady or is out of home care which makes me leary ...
Does anyone live in NYC and what are you going to do for daycare? I may just have to move to find care for my child
I'm gonna be sick over this!

Re: Nervous Breakdown Time - DAY CARE?
When we were living in Bayside I remember thinking the same thing. I was actually prepared to drive to Manhasset or New Hyde Park for daycare and park in the LIRR lot there. We moved before I actually had to get serious about it but I really think I would have done that...I know it's not a great idea and if you are further in Queens it becomes even more difficult.
I have always heard great things about the daycare program at Christ the King in Middle Village.

Oh man...that was the one I was going to recommend. The old Alma Mater!
FM Pauline (rose825), she might know of one.

Re: Nervous Breakdown Time - DAY CARE?
Hey I'm in Queens as well...Middle Village area...where have you been looking?
I'm going to look into Christ the King Day Care and the Learning Tree...I know Our Lady of Hope also has day care but I haven't checked it out yet...
ETA: I'm not planning on putting my son in day care until he is two...my SIL and my mom are helping out until then.

Re: Nervous Breakdown Time - DAY CARE?
This is a really helpful thread. I live in Forest Hills and, after this post, am going to start researching day care centers in Queens.
Is there a way to find out which are considered the "best" day care places in Queens? I tried searching online, but I haven't found anything.
