Neurologist or Developmental Ped?

DH and i brought our son t oa Developmental Ped two years ago... she was good ...did not take our ins but was satisfied. Now DS needs to be re evaluated again, for ADD. Called the developmental ped we saw and she would only charge us 250.00 - half the cost of first visit for 4/29 appt. Our other option is a neurologist who we could see next week ...his CPSE meeting is 3/31. The neurologist is covered under our ins.

Question:
Is a neurologist better to see / diagnose for things like this or a developmental pediatrician?

We just recently saw a Neurologist for our 5 year old. Our Dr. wont diagnose right away, had us and the teachers fill out a ADD questionaire, she also just had an EEG done. Just waiting on the results of that test and will also be having a sleep study done as well. We already had our CSPE and CSE meeting and we were able to get all our services based on her IEP from DDI. SO thankfully we didnt need the diangnosis as of now.

If insurance covers the neurologist then I would say it can't hurt to pay them a visit, especially since you can get in so quickly. Good luck!

I am doing both since the developmental ped is only charging us 1/2 the cost in April.
