Never been to one.. a baby shower. Need ideas!
Want to do something special for my friends who are having a baby at their shower.... Like a memory book, or games or activities.
Any ideas are welcome!
The shower is being thrown by their families-- so I am just looking for something to add to it and make it more special.
Thanks!

Re: Never been to one.. a baby shower. Need ideas!
My BF recently threw me my shower. Here are some things she did.
Ceramic signature plate. She went to one of those paint your own ceramics shops and painted a platter with a baby clothes line on top. She bought special markers and all of the guest were able to sign the platter with their wishes for the babies. I'm going to put the babies' names on either side and refire it.
Memory Book She made a scrapbook and on every page she put a sticky note asking guests to fill it in with advice, etc. the pages are: 1. Invite 2 and 3 blank for pictures of the presents 4 and 5 she pasted tags and everyone could write the day they think the babies would arrive and their name 6 Advice on getting the babies to sleep 7 Advice on diapering 8 Advice on feeding 9 Advice for new mom 10 Advice for raising a girl 11 Advice for raising a boy
Diapers and markers on each table Guests were told to write funny sayings on the diapers so we can get a laugh at those middle of the night messy changes. One of my union members wrote, "So what are your contractual hours now?"...lol. People wrote very funny things. God knows with twins we need lots of diapers.
Instead of a rented wishing well guests filled a Moses basket.
Centerpieces were bath toys.
Clothes line.
Favors were wrapped tea bags that were personalized and had two peas in a pod on them and said "Twins are brewing",
HTH. She did an amazing job.

One thing I have seen at a baby shower that really stood out was a scrapbook that had pages made about firsts.
First Tooth First Haircut First Velentine's Day etc
It started from the month the baby was expected and pages were made for each event up to the baby's one year birthday. The pages were decorated and mom just had to put the pics in once the event happened. By the baby's first birthday there was a year of great moments/memories captured. The parents actually had the album out at the 1st b-day party. Everyone loved it.
