New appliances - a question about the refrigerator...

DH and I bought all new kitchen appliances yesterday! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

They are scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday. How do we handle what we have in our fridge and freezer? When should we unplug our old fridge? Can we wait until right before the new one is going to be delivered? I have so much stuff in the fridge and freezer and I'd hate to see it all go to waste.... Chat Icon

Any tips?

I am soooooooo excited to get our new stuff! We got everything from the Frigidaire Gallery collection - awesome deals at PC Richards! Chat Icon

you need to have the new one plugged in for a while - sometimes 24 hours - to transfer food.

We moved our frige to another outlet, so the new one could go into the right spot until it was ready.

When we bought ours we put as much stuff as we could in the basement and garage refrigerators and the rest in a large cooler with some ice packs.

We did too. I didn't empty it until just before they arrived. I put frozen food in the sink and everything else on the kitchen table.
