Re: new here and a question

Congrats!!!!

I had my girls vaginally before we could schedule a c section. both were head down for so long that my ob would have only done a c section if they absolutely had to.

Congratulations!!!

It really depends on your OB. Some OB's don't feel comfortable delivering twins vaginally. Although we didn't make it to my c-section date, We did schedule it. It was that plan my OB and I discussed. I personally did not want to go vaginally.

Re: new here and a question

Congratulations!

For me, I was planning to have a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) when I first found out I was pregnant. Then I found out it was twins and my OB said he felt it would be better for me and the babies to just go ahead and have a repeat c-section. I agreed.

Re: new here and a question

Mine said i could try vaginally if baby A was head down

I went vagiinally with baby A but baby B ended up trnasverse and would not engage head down or breech so i had a c-section.

every doctor is different about what they will deliver - so something to discuss with your doc - also learn prefernces of anyother doctors in the group or covering doc

3 out of 4 could deliver breech - one could not - each had a different period they would wait between each baby being born

at my hospital even for twins they can't schedule c-sections until 39 weeks unless a medical necessity. So schecduling is pointless becasuse most moms don't make it that far

Mine said the same. Baby B was transverse so I had a c-section.

i was told that the plan would be to try vaginally unless we couldnt (babies were not facing down or some other ER reason) i always thought it would be c-section and i'm kinda scared of delivering vaginally but what ever is best for me and the babies i'll do

honestly... it was not that bad (and i did it without any meds, not by choice) and being around MANY new moms in the nicu. I was SOOOO glad I had them vaginally. I could walk around that night. C section moms were in wheel chairs and still hooked up to iv's days later. Granted is was not pleasant, but I imagine having your stomach muscles cut is less pleasant

Re: new here and a question

At my first visit my ob said he wanted me to have a scheduled section due to the fear of having one natural and then having to have a c anyway. Every single visit i asked to go natural. turned out it didn't matter my water broke at 31 w and both were breech. It is def something to discuss with your doc but in the end sometimes it is not our choice so be prepared !
