New Here- Induction question

Hi All -

Is it silly to be induced just to have a certain doctor deliver?

Went to dr. today and my due date's 12/19 Tuesday. Baby looks great nice and healthy. She looks pretty big right now. 8lb.10oz. I really want this doctor to deliver but to insure that, I would need to be induced on Thursday. The following week, he's not in the hospital. My husband is really against inductions.

What would you do?

I wouldn't do it.... just because you are induced when your Dr. is there doesn't necessarily mean that you'll actually give birth while he's there also.. you could be in labor for a long time, it's not quick... Also, induced labors are not always easy, pitocin can make contractions come on fast and VERY painful... JMHO... let your body do what it was meant to do and your baby will tell you when it's ready

I would not do that personally. You are risking way too much for no medical reason.
