New Here ***UPDATE***
Hello ladies...I have been hesitant to post on this site because I have had two m/c's in the last year and wanted to wait until I was a bit further along but I have many questions and maybe could use some of your help.
Since the two m/c's I have been seeing Dr. B. I am in intrilipids, predisone, progestrone, and to help us get pregnant I did an injectable IUI cycle. We got our BFP after our first IUI. There was only one mature follie and about 10 much smaller ones between the two ovaries. So we were really only expecting one. However I went for a sonogram on Monday (5w1d) and we have 3 sacs with 3 yolks in each sac. I am beyond thrilled. I know it is still early and the 3 can go down to 2, but honestly after our long road, I feel so thrilled and blessed with anything. Dr. B was pretty shocked since we only had one mature follie and I truely feel that this miracle was given to us for a reason.
So here are my questions. I am currently 5w3d. I have very little symptoms....sore boobs, extremely tired and frequent urination. I have not had any nausea yet. I have been reading up on the web and everywhere says that the nausea is usually intensified with multiples so of course I am nervous. Am I just still too early, did some of you ladies slip by without any nausea?!
Also is there anything special that I should be doing during this very crucial time? Dr. B said to stop going to the gym for right now and to up my diet. How much should I be eating? Any insights or opinions would be so greatful to a hopefully new mommy of multiples to be.
Thank you for for your time, I look forward to posting on this board!
**UPDATE*** So today I had my second sonogram with Dr. B. We are currently 6w3d so he said at this point we should see some heartbeats. Well I am happy to say everything looked great! Not only are three healthy heartbeats and the babies are all growing right on target, he found ANOTHER SAC with another healthy heartbeat, measuring right on schedule. We are beyond shocked at this time. And so is Dr. B.....Dr. B went over all my sonograms and numbers before we did the IUI and scientifically (based on my estrogen numbers) and looking at the sonograms, I only had ONE healthy egg....so if that is the fact, these are IDENTICAL QUADS, which he said he has only seen once in that last 25 years. Ladies I am sure that I am going to have plenty of questions and I look forward to talking with all of you on these boards. We have our next sono appointment next Tuesday so I will update again.

Re: New Here
Welcome and congrats! I am saying that cautiously and hope that things turn out okay!
I didn't have many symptoms in the beginning. Don't stress over that too much!
I never really had morning sickness where I was throwing up----I just had nausea later in the day and got turned off by a lot of foods. My Dh tried to get me to eat more, but I didn't have much of an appetite. Just eat as much as you can and try to take it easy!

Re: New Here
First, congratulations on your multiple pregnancy. I am sorry you have had so much trouble in the past and I truly hope everything works out for you this time around!!
As far as symptoms I hardly had any! So dont worry about lack of them. Every women is different.
In regards to eating...I didnt do anything special....just tried to follow the regular guidlines like no cold cuts, caffeine etc...
The only advice I have is drink massive quantities of WATER! Dont do any heavy lifting or major workouts. Other than that I would continue with your normal everyday life until told differently by the doc.
Happy and Healthy pregnancy!!!!

Re: New Here
Congrats and Welcome to the Multiples board...
I would try to stay away from caffeine and just try to eat healthy...Most OB's do want you to gain extra weight with multiples but do what you feel comfortable with... The only symptoms I had was being nauseated ALL the time I never threw up......You are still early in the pregnancy but I think it is a good sign they say 3 sacs with 3 hearts beats this early.....at my 5 weeks visit they only saw 2 sacs...then on my 8 week visit they told me I was having triplets....Good luck to you... I am here to answer any questions you might have. There is a great bunch of girls on here and I am sure they will be able to help you out with any questions as well....

Re: New Here
congrats! and many that everything goes nice and smooth from here.
I am a former Dr B "graduate" too! He told me not to lift anything more than 10lbs right in the begining.
I had pretty bad morning sickness (all day) but it didn't start till about 8 or 9 weeks. In the beginning I had no symptoms.
I agree with the other ladies...drink lots and lots of water.

Same here...I just couldn't look at a lot of foods and wasn't very hungry. You don't have to eat a ton, but try to eat well and get lots of protein and calcium. Congrats! I will pray that those little babies keep growing! I had a similar situation...my RE only saw one mature follie, but I have twins! They are my little miracles

Re: New Here ***UPDATE***
How amazing when you originally heard of 3 and extraordinary for 4 !! Must be an awesome shocker !! I'm so happy for you and all my prayers coming your way
So I am having twins and was on prednisone for 10-12 weeks. When I told my new OB that I had no morning sickness, she told me that it was probably because of the prednisone. That in very severe cases, they actually prescribe prednisone for ms. Since I've stopped I have had some nausea and sickness.
I wish you the very best uneventful next as close to 9 months as possible!!
