Re: New home- Gift?
If they don't have it already, what about one of those "The Smith Family Est: April 2006" signs?
We just bought a house recently and i'd love to get one of those as a gift. Also Home Depot cards... lots of 'em!!

Re: New home- Gift?
recently i went to williams & sonoma and there were tons of great things there. even for someone who has a lot of things already and has been living on their own a while -- there were still tons of things that are just nice to have. i bought a GREAT mixing bowl set (the one that oprah gave away on favorite things) and then a set of pot holders, an oven mit and dish towels - all in coordinating colors.
they also have great stemware, barware, decanters, cookbooks... or just a gift certificate. i had trouble deciding there were so many things. and the way they wrap it up, for free, is just beautiful.
also, i don't know what you are planning on spending but something that i rec'd as a gift, a garment steamer, is something a lot of people don't have but it is SO useful and SO handy -- i love love LOVE mine and use it all the time. i can steam clothes, window treatments, anything! i find now that i might as well throw my iron out b/c i'll never use it again! they have them at BB&B and you can use your 20% off coupon - it is a great gift people don't realize how much they come in handy until they have it.
HTH!!!!

Re: New home- Gift?
We just bought BIL and SIL a pretty plant for outside and a Home Depot Gift Card.
I was going to order them one of those signs, but I wasn't sure of their decor. Maybe I will do that for the holidays though now that I have been there.
