New Home Owner Question regarding a repair that was made pre-ownership

We have been in our house for 6 months. When the house was inspected, there was a leak from the flat roof of of the sun room that caused a leak in the sun room. The owner said he repaired it, scraped, and painted it.

Fast Forward to last night. I open the doors to the sun room and low and behold, I have large water bubbles in the same spot. I almost died.

To complicate matters, the former owner has been helpful with regards to helping us make connections in the area, etc. But now, I am so angry.

I really feel that this repair is his. I know in reality it isn't, but he didn't do it correctly to begin with. UGH!!! Should I ask him about it?

No definitely not after six months. If this was a big concern I would have had your inspector do a water test on the roof.

The inspector didn't do a water test on the roof. Oh, well....still makes me angry that this happened.

Welcome to the wonderful world of home-ownership. I highly doubt the previous owner intentionally made a faulty repair. Unfortunately, these things happen.

Could have been that he did a simple patch job but now the roof is failing. Once you own the home it's is your responsibility
