new homeowner... star rebate?
We just closed on our house last week. Where do I need to go to fill out an application for STAR rebate? and how does this work, this year I will pay the normal taxes and get a rebate check and then next year it will be adjusted through my mortgaage?

You can go down to the town, or call them to have them send an application to you.
For Brookhaven town you already missed the deadline for this year which was March 1. So next year, you can fill one out by the cut off date, and it will affect your taxes the next year.
Anyone that made the March 1st deadline this year, will have their taxes affected for next year.
You will not get a check.
