New maternity ward at Stony Brook?
Did anyone hear any details about it yet? My sister delivered there in Jan and I thought her room was like a hotel compared to my room at Good Sam. I switched practices so this time I will also be delivering at Stony Brook in March and even the midwife was telling me that I was lucky that I'd be in the new maternity ward.

They are moving L and D to the same floor as the recovery rooms after. So those rooms won't change, but the L and D rooms will. I was told it would be open mid September, but we'll see. I know they are really encouraging rooming in, and eventually with everything being close, they'd like to do all the tests on the baby in the L and D room and then transport them with mom, so there is very little time apart. I was told all of this at a breastfeeding class at Stony Brook.

I went to this months "meet the midwives" and they said the new L&D is opening September 13th

It's so sad but I can't wait to stay at the hospital. 
I delivered DS there last year and the rooms were great!!
