NEW MOMMIES....who is a teacher and going back to work in Sept.

Emma will be 4 months next week, and I will be returning back to teach in Sept. now that my maternity leave it up. I have been off since April. The one good thing is that my mom is going to watch her 5 days a week. I am so lucky to have a supportive familyChat Icon .

It'll be an adjustment not being with her 24-7. Emma wakes up between 6:30-7:30. If she wakes up early I will feed her before I leave if not DH will have to do it.

How is everyone else planning on arranging their schedules?

We're still trying to figure it out. Lily will be 3 months and does really well with schedules, so I'm optimistic. My dad will be watching her during the week, so we just have to drop her off in the morning. I work about 45 minutes away, so I'll have to leave really early, so I'm thinking I'll get her up with me around 6 for a bottle, and then she can go back to sleep until my husband gets up to drop her off at my parent's house. She usually wakes up around 7 or 8, so maybe if she wakes a little earlier, she'll go to bed a little earlier too.
Tomorrow, I'm going to proctor for the Summer School Regents, so we have a practice run!

Re: NEW MOMMIES....who is a teacher and going back to work in Sept.

I'll be getting my 3 kids up in Sept. and off to the sitter. DS will be 4 months and I have to admit that this time around I think is going to be the hardest leaving them. i also have been off since April and have LOVED having all this time off with them.

As for schedules, we'll have to work very hard these next couple of weeks to change it. My first two have been getting up at 9am. Ds wakes up usually around 6:30. I 'll have to be up at 6:oo to be able to get in the shower and get ready soI'm ready nto BF him. Hopefully he'll go down for a few more minutes so I can get the other 2 up and dressed and all out the door by 7:45 to get to work by 8:30 so that I can domy PDP i9n the am and not after school.

DH is taking a sabbatical, so he will be home full-time with Emma till January. It's still going to be an adjustment, since he really has to get some research and writing done, and so far getting her to nap has been tough.

Ideally, my mom will watch her after DH goes back to work, though he will still be home two days a week.

My DD will only be 8 weeks old when I go back Chat Icon but DH works nights, so we're hoping he'll be able to take care of her from when he gets in at 3-530am (I'll leave around 645)--yet I think he'll be exhausted & it hasn't worked too well when we've been doing this w/ me home--but maybe that's b/c I'm here & he knows that. Then he'll drop her off at his mom's later on (which is where I'll pick her up).

I can't believe it's back to school time already! DD will be 3 months. I found a lady to watch her in her home whic is great. I'm just worried about spending time with her. She gets her first bottle at around 6am which gives me an hour in the morning to play with her, but lately she has been taking another nap form 4-5:30, 6:00 which I'm going to try to change because then I'll hardly see her in the evening.

Classes start at my college on 8/28 so it's right around the corner for me. I only teach 3 days a week and my dad will watch Ainsley 1 day. We have a nanny coming here 2 days a week, from 8-5. DD will be 4 months old when I go back. I'm sure it will be tougher on me than on her.

My ds will be almost 8 months old when I go back. I havent worked in 2007 and I cnat believe I am going back. I have been getting my ds up at 6 to get into a routine. He now pretty much wakes on his own. We do breakfast and a bottle and then he goes back to sleep. I will then leave for work about 7 and my dh will be home until 12ish. My father will watch him from about 11-3 4 days a week and my dh will be off on fridays.

DH is a city cop so he changed his schedule so he works 12-8. He will get DS on the bus in the morning and bring DD to the sitter at 11. I will fly home after school, get DD from te sitter at 3:30 & DS off the bus at 3:45. On the days I stay after, my FIL will do the pick ups. Chat Icon

Re: NEW MOMMIES....who is a teacher and going back to work in Sept.

I started back this week. Thankfully, I'm only 3 days a week and DH is off those days. Our schedule is pretty nonexistant right now. I'm BFing, so basically I'm exhausted
