New Mommy groups?
Is there any such thing on LI?
I would really love to join something to just be able to pick others brains, vent , hear other stories etc?
( so I dont drive you all nuts too!)

I think Parent/baby center.com has a LI section for this.

Re: New Mommy groups?
I did Mingling Moms, though it was ok, also did Stroller Mamas & enjoyed that a lot more b/c you meet lots of new Moms & also get outside, workout with your baby, and get to hang out & chat at a park afterwards too. I still keep in touch w/ a couple of the Moms.

I did Mingling Moms also and now that Jacob is turning 2, We are still very friendly with all the mommies I met. I have a playdate with them for the last year and a half and we take classes together also...
THe local Y's also have new mommy classes-- I took one at the Plainview Y... The Roslyn Y has one also.... Don't know about the rest...
Try your local churches or temples too....

Re: New Mommy groups?
also yahoo groups. (go to yahoo, click on GROUPS and search for groups, you'll just have to write random things down "long island moms" or "moms of preschoolers" etc. type in a few different things and you'll see how many members there are to get an idea of how active the club is.
then you join/they approve you, etc. these are free.
ETA: Also momsclub.org, click on Chapter Links at the very bottom, and find a chapter near you (you can email the main office to see if theres a chapter near you that just doesnt have a website). this is usually like $30 per year, but theyre run like a family/sorority type thing. nice for those who like that. they have monthly meetings, exec board, charity fundraisers, annual luncheons for moms clubs all over the country. I went to one where there were over 500 moms, inspirational speakers, etc. It was amazing.

Re: New Mommy groups?
we all should start one. We do playdates but we do them every 2 months. if someone would be interested in doing something lets say every 2 weeks or so...I would help set up plans. Though, I can only do the after 4 or weekend things.
