New mommy with a diaper question
DD is 3 weeks old and not even 7 lbs yet. I am using the pampers swaddlers newborn size. I am noticing 2 things -
1) the elastic on the legs leave a mark on her thighs - does this mean they are too small? I can't imagine at less than 7 lbs she needs to go above newborn. the waist is not too tight at all. I tried Huggies newborns and they are too loose on her legs.
2) She often pees through her diaper, no matter how often we change her.
Any advice for a new mom??
TIA!!

Re: New mommy with a diaper question
honestly, with us its trial and error. If I buy a box that he leaks with, I call the 1 800 number on box, tell them I have a leaking problem, then send me my money back.
We now only use Huggies, the only one we haven't had an issue with.
ETA: I would go up a size, if too big, they won't go to waste, you will just use them in a few weeks.

Re: New mommy with a diaper question
Ryan used to leak through Pampers newborn swaddlers. We switched to Huggies newborn and they were much better. I've been using Huggies ever since.

try the size 1, when my friend called pampers b/c her son was leaking they told her to go up to the next size and she said it worked.

Re: New mommy with a diaper question
I agree about the trial and error... Michael was in Pampers Baby Dry in the beginning, until he hit size 2, then Huggies was the only thing that worked, until we hit size 3, lol...
Anyway, I HATED Swaddlers, I felt that Michael ALWAYS felt wet. The Baby Dry really worked well for us and no elastic marks on his legs.
I noticed today that my VERY newborn niece (3 days old) had elastic marks on her thighs and butt, (she's under 7lbs as well), but I didn't think anything of it - they were using Huggies Newborn on her...

Re: New mommy with a diaper question
I swear by the huggies...but not the supremes (those always fit DD big as a newborn) - try the newborn size huggies baby shaped diapers....DD wore them for months.
good luck!!!
