New Names for Babies!??
Sports Fan Names Newborn Son 'ESPN' BILOXI, Miss. (Oct. 7) - Leann Real promised her husband, an avid sports fan, that if they ever had a son he'd get to pick the name. ESPN Montana Real was born this week at Biloxi Regional Medical Center.
Rusty Real, of D'Iberville, chose ESPN (pronounced Espen) after the sports network and Montana after football legend Joe Montana.
Baby ESPN isn't alone.
Three others were cited in a 2005 report on tivocommunity.com about the network's 25th anniversary. They are Espn Malachi McCall in Pampa, Texas; Espn Curiel in Corpus Christi, Texas; and Espn Blondeel in Michigan.
"We were the talk of the hospital," Rusty Real said. "The nurses kept asking my wife if she was really going to let her husband name him ESPN. She said, 'Oh, yes."'
Is this a start of a new trend for ESPN obssessed husbands!?

Re: New Names for Babies!??
Suddenly, Brett (for Brett Favre) doesnt sound so bad.
Why not CNN (Cinn)? Why not HBO (Hibbo)? Why not MSG (MissG)? Why not TLC (Talc)?
Stop the madness!

Re: New Names for Babies!??
Glad the kid's parents don't have an affinity for a porn channel.
I had a student once (boy) named LaCream. I'd take Espn over that.

Re: New Names for Babies!??
I hope my DH doesn't see this. He would be the one to want that name. We are not PG but right now he is focused on having a child named Brooklyn so he can say "Is Brooklyn in da house?) I vetoed that fast!

Re: New Names for Babies!??
that's ridiculous. I'm not sure which is worse - the guy who chose the name or the wife who went along with it.
If I'm going to name my child after my favorite network then I'm looking at a child named Food or Foodie (for the food network)

I don't think most of these parents know what a resume is I have a feeling they haven't been promoted from the "Gas and Sip"
Of course, these are the people who don't have a "pot to you know what in" and get pregnant and the drop of a hat

Re: New Names for Babies!??
I heard this last year when there were a few babies with that name. I would never agree to a name like that. This name is pretty bad, but I've heard worse.

I actually read a report where they say that bizarre names can hamper a person's chance for just getting interviews. They look at the names and say "next."
