New Year's Eve in NYC?

I know this is a random and broad question... but what's a good place to go to in NYC on New Year's Eve... DH's friends are coming in from out of town and they will want to go out... I don't drink, so I am of no use to them in helping them pick out a place... please help! I'd love a place that's a little low key so I could go with them, too, and not feel like a party pooper...

Re: New Year's Eve in NYC?

Are you looking to eat, dance or just go to a bar? There are a lot of parties going on in NYC but most you have to buy tickets for and I doubt they would be low key. It depends on what you are looking to do! I would imagine every place will be a zoo since it is a huge party night.
I would think the best bet would be to go out to eat and even that is a stretch. I think the city will be mobbed either way.

Re: New Year's Eve in NYC?

We are going to Caroline's Comedy Club- seeing the show, then they say they might be able to let people out to see the ball drop and then you go back in and it turns into a club/bar til 2am.
two drink minimum as with most comedy shows- you can get food before too- we decided not to do this. First come first serve seating.

Fun, organized, as low key or crazy as we want to make it.

We did have to get tickets online- however we did it a week ago and had no problem.
