Newborn always seems to be eating!
my daughter seems to be a hungry little one! did anyone else have a child who wanted to eat more frequently than the "normal" every 2-3 hours (for those who breastfed)?

Every 2-3 hrs in the normal feedings for a BF baby. They digest the milk quicker than formula, so get hungry faster.....

I only breastfeed for the first couple weeks and my daughter would be on my breast for 2-3 hours in the beginning pausing for a 1/2 - one hour before she got hungry again.....I felt like a machine.
Needless to say - i wasn't producing enough milk - but hang in there - it should get better as the weeks go by....

I did but didn't realize it until I read the Baby Whisperer that I was overfeeding him. He would also spit up a lot. I felt like all I did was nurse all day long. I was misreading his crying for signs of hunger.
Anyway, very helpful book to have.

Yes, I did. I lived on the couch. They've got lots of growing to do in the early weeks!!

I think it is normal the first 6 weeks. They only have small stomachs and breastmilk digest very quickly. Also babies need to nurse often to establish your supply.

This is exactly what the LC told me. I thought it was way too much but the LC said it was normal.

Let's put it this way, I BF for the first 3 months, and in the beginning, I would write down every time I nursed...There were days I BF 14 times a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She was a HUGE cluster-feeder. The beginning is very hard, and this is the last thing you'll want to hear, but it DOES get better!!!
