Newborn awake for 6 to 7 hours at a time...

Is this normal?

He's been fed, changed, burped but still up for hours at a time. He may take a 10 minute cat nap but wake up. He wants to be held, but still won't fall asleep. We've tried baths, music, etc and its only when he's completely exhausted will he fall asleep and then only sleep for 3 to 4 hours.

some babies are just like that... DS was too.... as long as they're not screaming in pain (likely due to reflux), they're fine.... they're just quite a handful!
