Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
Jason is 8 weeks 4 days (born 6/26). Doing great. He is 13lbs and is 24" long.
He is EBF and it is going great. He WAS sleeping from 10:30p to 4:30a for a while but he started teething recently and now wakes at 1 or 2am and then again at 530/6am. Thankfully he nurses and goes right back to sleep without a peep.
He does get distracted easily while nursing. If anyone walks into the room, speaks, anything and he is looking all over. Nursing him at my moms is hard because its like he just wants to see everything. I have to do everything to get him to stay on. I think I might get a nursing necklace. Has that worked for anyone?
He naps 2x a day for about 2 hours. Stays up between naps for the same amount of time.
He is a super happy baby. He is cooing a lot now, tries to copy our coos to him, I finally got him to laugh out loud last night it was the best ever. He is sitting in his bumbo seat and his head isn't as wobbly as it was when we first got him in. He loves that seat.
He is wearing a size 2 diaper and fitting into 3mo and 3/6mo.
I have gallbladder surgery on Friday so I have been giving him one BM bottle a day to get him use to the bottle. I am praying that all goes well Friday and I can get back to my boys. This gallbaldder pain has been horrible and keeping me from really enjoying the summer. So I say bring on the FALL!!!!!!

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
Jack is 16 weeks, he will be 4 months on 9/6
He is in the range of 16-17lb. i think about 26 inches! He was 13.10 at his last appointment at 10 weeks, i really have no clue what he weighs/measures but i estimate
He normally takes 4-5 six ounce bottles and sleeps 10-12 hours per night with two short naps during the day.
He is reaching for objects, putting objects in his mouth, TEETHING! , loves to stand (with a little help), sits tripod and is a ham. He laughs and is very vocal now!
He is wearing size 2 diapers and 6 month or 3-6 month clothing!
He started daycare today (3 days a week) so we will see how it goes

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
My little girl is 10 weeks old tomorrow. Had her 2 month shots last week- pulled through like a champ- no fever, no real irritability other than her normal crankiness!
She weighs 11 lbs (from 7 at birth) and is 23 inches long (from 20 at birth). She is in the 50 ish percentile for weight and the 70 ish percentile for height so she might be tall like her mama!
Doing well on the AR formula- much less spit up and vomitting!
She sleeps for 5 hours at a strech now- but unfortuneatly it's from like 730 pm to 1230 or 1 am...I'd love to push that out a bit but I'll take what I can get at this point!
3rd week of daycare and so far so good- I can't say enough good about her care takers and the center... they are amazing!
She is smiling more, cooing, defintiely getting more social and interactive!

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
DD is 13wks She takes 5-6 4oz bottles a day. Naps between all of her feedings except the last one. Sleeps about 5=6 hr stretch at night and goes right back down for another 3 hrs. Smiling and cooing and drooling. Could this be teething already?
Still a little fussy with gas at times but much better then it was.
Last time she was at the dr she weighed 12lbs. But that was 4 weeks ago. Going this week.

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
DS will be a month on Wednesday!!! Cannot believe how fast it went.
He had his best nights sleep last night- took him in to his bassinet at 11:30 with us and he woke up at 3:30 and 6:00 for feedings. I then got up at 8:30/9:00 for another feeding. He did great! He's eating about 4 ounces every feeding- sometimes less.
At his last appointment, he weighed 8 lb 12 ounces (he was 7 lbs 14 ounces at birth) and still the 22 inches he was at birth. We go back in 2 weeks- can't wait to see how much he weighs now!

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
Hello! AnnaMaria turned a month yesterday!
She is taking 2.5oz of pumped BM, and drinking about 20oz a day total. I try to BF at least once a day but its hard, hope that we get the hang of it eventually!
She sleeps ALL DAY LOL, but I am not complaining b/c she also sleeps from around 11-6 AM, take a bottle and then goes back down until 9!
We think we got our first "real" smile yesterday, and it was awesome!
Oh yeah! She gained 1lb6oz abd grew 2 inches!
She is now 8lbs6oz and 21 inches! I can't believe at a month old she is still smaller than my nieces and nephews at their birth, LOL

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
Evelyn is 8w3d today and we have her 2 month appt on Thursday. At her 1mo appt she was just over 11 lbs, and we're convinced she's at least 13 now, though we'll confirm that on Thursday.
She's EBF and we haven't tried giving her a bottle yet, but need to soon so we're sure she's ok for when she starts day care at the beginning of October.
She is VERY vocal now and has just started to try to imitate our sounds. This morning, I said "uh oh" to something she did and almost right away, she tried to say it! I repeated it 2 more times and she did too, so I don't think it was a fluke. She's also drooling something fierce, so we're wondering when teething is going to start (though perhaps she already is since she can't seem to stop gnawing on her hands!).
I just can't believe she's already two months old. The time has just flown!

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
Ava will be 20 weeks on Saturday. She was 9lbs 8 oz, and 23 inches long at her last appt, about two weeks ago. (She was born 3lbs 14oz, so she has made some progress). She is EBF, and has a very healthy appeitite. I think we just had a growth spurt as she has been wearing me out wanting to nur She was sleeping through the night (8hours), and the last week has been a little off. We think she is showing signs of teething already! She is choping on everything especially her hands, drooling everywhere, and pulling her ears. She just rolled over for the first time last week (tummy to back). She hates tummy time, and will only do it sometimes. She is smiling, laughing, talking to her toys. She really doesn't nap anymore, and wants to be entertained 24/7. The fall is going to be very exciting, as we have her baptism the first weekend of Oct, and will be starting solids. I can't wait to start making baby food for her. It has been a long wrong, but besides her being small for her age you would never know what a rough start she had in life.

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
DD is 6.5 weeks. She is EBF and eating about every 3 hours (although I think she is going through a growth spurt, because it has been closer to every 2-2.5 hours for the past few days).
Napping is kind of erratic. Usually, she will take one good nap (1.5-2 hours) in the middle of the day, and then a few cat naps (15-30 minutes) in the afternoon/evening. At night, she usually has one longer stretch of 4-5 hours.
She started smiling about a week ago, but not really frequently. She makes us work for it I can't wait until she starts smiling more and cooing.
At her one month appointment she was 9 lbs (up from 7lbs, 3oz. at birth). I think she is probably about 10 lbs now if I had to guess.

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
Travis & Kylie are 1 month old today! They were born 3 weeks early so DH jokes they are "1 week" old today.
On Friday, Travis weighed 7 lbs 11 oz (born at 5 lbs 5 oz) and was 20 inches (born at 18.5 inches). Kylie weighed 8 lbs 1 oz (born at 6 lbs 2 oz) and was 20.5 inches (born at 18.5 inches). They grew out of their preemie clothes and some newborn size is starting to get snug.
They are really good babies. They eat every 2.5 hours, 3 oz of either pumped breastmilk or formula. They get equal amounts of each for a total of ~26 ounces per day. They are still waking through the night every 2.5-3 hours but I am not complaining! They were born early and small so they need to grow. They slept a lot during the day for the first 3 weeks and now they are awake for long stretches.
Travis looks exactly like his daddy's baby pictures and Kylie looks exactly like her mommy's baby pictures. They are soooo different and I know I shouldn't compare, but it is so weird to see twins that are so different. Kylie got tons of baby acne while Travis has crystal clear skin. Travis has no hair and Kylie has a frizzy mess. Kylie is a drama queen already and Travis is laid back. They both make the same grunting noise while pooping though.
Big brother Landon is such a great helper and loves his baby brother and sister!

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
Luke is 8 weeks 2 days. He has his 2 month appointment at the ped tomorrow but I'll guess he's around 12 lbs.
I FF and he alternates between 24 and 28 ounces a day (so average 26). He eats about 4 ounces every 3 hours during the day and wakes up once at night to eat. He was sleeping a 4 to 5 hour stretch between like 10 and 4 but he's changed his schedule a bit the last week or so and now goes about 4 hours before 2am, eats, and sleeps about 4 hours after that. He just started sleeping in his crib a few nights ago so that may be a factor. He usually naps twice a day for about 2 hours a clip.
He smiles a lot now and DH and I do whatever we can to make that happen!!!! He also coos a lot more and sometimes "yells" at us instead of crying when he's hungry or lonely!!! Can't believe he does this already - I'm in trouble.

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
DD is 7 weeks today. at her one month visit she was 10 lbs and 21.5inches (born 7.4lbs and 19 inches). i think she is around 11-12 lbs now.
she is ebf and i have been introducing a bottle with bm the last two weeks (took me some time to get a hang of bf and pumping).
she can go 3-4 hours between feeds although she has days where it seems like she is eating every 2 hours. when she takes a bottle she takes about 3.5-4ozs.
in terms of sleep she gives us one 3-4 hour stretch followed by a couple 2 hour stretches.
she coos, smiles and laughs and is pretty alert. she gives me one long nap during the day usually before noon (about 1.5hrs) and then shorter naps until bed time (around 9ish). i feel like she is growing so quickly already!

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
Trip is now 12 weeks 4 days. Growing like a weed He was born 8lbs 10oz and 20.5", and his last visit on 7/26 he was 13.3lbs and 24". I'm guessing he is now about 16lbs and 25-26" (we go for next well visit on Thursday).
He is EBF and eating about every 3 hours. He just started STTN this last week and he's sleeping for 8-9hrs straight! He's not on a regular schedule yet, but things are starting to get more regular. He naps usually 2-3 times a day, sometimes more if they're cat naps.
He has more expressions than anyone I've ever met! He loves to hear his own voice, and his new thing is screeching and blowing bubbles while making noises with his lips and tongue. He LOVES his mommy!!! Follows me with his eyes wherever I go, and doesn't like me out of his sight.
He's really big for 3 months, so he's at the top end of 3/6. All of his Carter's footie pj's are 6m, and he's almost outgrown the length. He's still in size 2 diapers, but he'll be out of them probably within a week.
He's also teething like crazy, and he was biting down on me but that stopped after a couple of days (thankfully!). He's reaching for toys now and holding onto them for longer. He loves to be sung to and read bedtime stories. He also likes when my SIL does pirouettes for him! He laughs but no sound comes out yet!
He hates tummy time, but I still try to do it for a couple minutes 2 to 3 times a day. He rolled over from tummy to back at 8weeks, 1 day and has been doing it ever since.
I got back to work after Labor Day, but it's only 2 days a week and no more than 5 hours a day. DH works nights so he will be watching him, but I'm still going to cry!!!

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
Giovanni is 8 weeks old today and is growing like a weed!! At his appt Thurs he was 24inches (from 21 at birth) and 14lb1oz (from 8lb3oz)
He is FF and now takes at least 6oz every 3hrs though he is starting to go longer stretches at night. Last night he slept from 11-7!
He is an extremely active baby, demanding a lot of attention. But he really doesn't cry unless he needs to be fed and then youu would think that I starve him and he is wasting away (which is clearly not the case since he gained 6lbs in 8 weeks).
He smiles a lot more now and has started to really pay attention to the sound of his voice. He loves music and especially loves when I sing to him. I sang in a band when I was preg so he has heard it plenty!
I'm back to work PT next week and curious to how it will go for both of us.

Chase is 13 weeks old and getting bigger by the minute! He's probably almost 15lbs by now and wears size 6 months in everything. He's so smiley and giggly and I just love him so much! He's eating 6oz. every 3 hours from 6am-9pm, then he sleeps from 9pm-6am most nights, sometimes he sleeps more. He's so calm and relaxed and takes in EVERYTHING. He's not a big napper, but we're working on it. I go back to work tomorrow for two days before officially starting next week and I am going to miss him like CRAZY!!!!! He's seriously the sweetest little thing ever

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
Dexter is 8 weeks 3 days old. We have his 2 month well-check this Friday. I have no idea how big he is now... can't wait to find out at our appointment cause I know he's grown a lot since last month. He is such a good boy... especially compared to what his sister was like as an infant. He really doesn't cry unless he's hungry or has gas. He loves to stare and talk to himself in the mirror on his swing... it's ADORABLE! He also loves being on his changing table. That's when we get the most smiles and babbles out of him. He's taking in between 4-5ozs every 3 hours. As far as sleep is concerned, he's got himself on a very strict schedule and unfortunately he's sticking to it. He's usually down for the night at 8:30--ALWAYS wakes between 1 and 2am--wakes again between 4 and 5am--and is up for the day around 8am. It's exhausting. But at least he's really easy about it... wakes to eat, and then goes right back down with no fuss. I love my little boy so much and I'm so excited to watch him grow!

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
Dylan will be 10 weeks on Friday. He is doing great! Still nurses like a champ and is changing so much every day.
At his two month appointment he was 12 lbs 13 oz (from 8 lbs 4 oz) and 24 inches long (from 19 3/4 inches). Everyone thinks he is such a big boy! We were at a 1st birthday party Saturday and people were always so surprised when we said he was 2 months. One dad even asked us if he was 5 months old I think we are going to start lying He is wearing size 2-3 diapers () and is in mostly 3-6 month clothing but seems he will be in 6 month soon.
He is still not STTN but definitely improving. He is starting to give me inconsistent long strenches. Last night was the longest - He went to sleep around 8pm, I did a dreamfeed around 10:30pm and he slept until 3! I honestly don't mind waking for him anymore since I know those days will be over soon. I am going to miss seeing my baby at night He is also doing really well with the bottle now! It was very hard to get him to take one but I can even give him one no problem.
DS also has torticollis and he goes to PT once a week. Those sessions are tough and my poor baby cries through a lot of it. He also hates the exercises at home but I know it's all for good reason. He is getting really strong with his head now and already bears weight on his feet. He loves putting his hands in his mouth too. He also can sleep just about anywhere. He is great with loud noises.
He is such a little joy! We are so lucky. He hardly ever cries unless he is hungry. He can be fussy at times but nothing too terrible and I take him with me EVERYWHERE and has not freaked out on me yet. Love it!
I have been a bit emotional lately because I will be going back to work in a week and a half. I never thought I would be one of those moms that would have a hard time with it but I am. I am just so attached to him, I am going to miss him so much

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
Georgie and Hunter are 14 weeks today. (It's so strange that they have only been w/ us for 14 weeks---it feels like forever! ) Ayt their 2 month appt, they were 10lbs and 10, 13 respectively but I know they have both put on a lot of weight since then.
They are eating 4.5 oz every 3 hours. I try to feed them a little more before bed. They go to bed around 7:30-8pm and usually get up 1X around 3:30am for a bottle and then go back to bed until 7am.
During the day, Hunter sleeps a LOT in between feedings. Georgie is up most of the time but he cries a lot. Very stressful.
Hunter rolled over 1X a few weeks ago but hasn't done it again since. Georgie hasn't done that yet. Georgie "talks" a lot and smiles and laughs mostly in the mornings. They both definitely know who Dh and I are and their eyes follow us when we walk around.
I went back to work this week. DH was home w/ them yesterday and again today. It was MUCH harder than he expected and of course the house was a mess and they were all in the PJ's still when I got home from work (including DH).
Sometimes I worry that the boys are behind developmentally----especially Hunter. Sometimes he just sits there and doesn't really seem into anything. They were 4 weeks premature so the DR said they'll be behind for awhile, but of course I am worried that they'll stay that way.
I luv them both SOOOO much. It's amazing how much they have changed our lives. They have taken over every room in our house. LOL.

Re: Newborn/Infant Moms - Check In!!
Kayla is 9 weeks old and at her 2 month appt she was 10.2 and 22" long.
Shes a pretty good sleeper which is good for me bc i love my sleep too. she goes down about 11 and will slept thru til about 6 or7. Although after her shots last week, her sleep has been a little off.
Shes all smiles now when you talk to her and she loves to coo, and tries to repeat our sounds.
I am working from home three days a week and two at the office, I dont think ill ever get used to leaving her all day long. I still get sad when I walk out the door.
ETA: shes eating 5 oz every 3-4 hours depending on the time of day. Can they be hungrier at certain times???
