newborn moms - check in!

Jack is 10 weeks (born 5/6) and is measuring 13lb. 10oz and 24 inches in length - about 80th% for both!

He is taking five 5-6 ounce bottles and sleeping 930pm - 4am, waking for a bottle then back down until about 9am. (he goes back down in his crib and wakes at 630, we put him either in his swing or our bed and he goes back down until 830-9am).

He is loving life! Laughing, cooing, trying to mimic coos, smiling up a storm and now LOVES bathtime! He has also found his cat and dog sisters and LOVES watching them roam around the house, also loves the TV.

Seems like we are getting into a naptime routine - 1130-1230 and then 230-5!

He is moving into size 2 diapers and size 3 or 3-6 months clothes are fitting well (0-3 are almost out!)

I go back to work on monday Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon but I know it will be good for both of us! His grandmothers are watching him m-w and he will be home with daddy on th-f!

Ill check inChat Icon

BTW: your son is adorable.

DS is also 10 weeks. He is BF from wake to bed. He gets 4oz formula at bedtime. so I have no idea how much he is really taking. He also drinks pumped breast milk, and RTF formula.

He is also sleeping from 9:30 to 4/5am. We are so close to a full night. He has an older brother who he loves. He is smiling up a storm, and so easy going. Lucky for me, as his brother is slowing become a monsterChat Icon

Naps are inconsistent. Today he napped all day as we were out and about. Some other days, its hard to get him to settle down.

He loves being under the gymini and looking at the animals hanging above. He also loves the tv, and I have to turn his seat around if his brother is watching something.

Olivia is 10 weeks.

Smiles, coos, loves talking to mommy and daddy. She also loves watching Sesame Street! She is 12lb 4oz and 22" long as of her last visit. She is a GAVONE when it comes to eating.

9AM breakfast 2 teaspoons of cereal with 6 oz of FM.

12PM lunch 2 teaspoons of cereal with 6 oz of FM.

4PM 6oz bottle

6:30-7ish 3 teaspoons of cereal

7:30 2oz of FM (nightcap LOL)

She has been really inconsistent with STTN. Some nights she sleeps from 7:30-4...other nights she's up at 1 for 2oz!

DS will be 8 weeks on Monday!
at hsi 2 month appt. he is 11 lbs 2 oz and 23 inches

he has 4 OZ every 2.5-3 hours. he wakes every 2.5 hours at night for a bottle. He "snacks" a lot and fusses for an ounce or two here and there. He needs to start eating cereal!

he is out of newborn clothes into 0-3 Months. he smiles but not that much yet , he is a bit fussy ok usually fussy. He loves his older brother.

He is really tough to get to sleep, no set schedule. He likes to be up with us after his brother goes to bed. usually up from 9 pm ish - 11 PM. wakes around 1230 , 3, and 6 am for bottles. then up at 7 am for the day. this night sched is slowly killing me esp bc my toddler is also up by 730.

I'm SAHM so not going back to work at this point

I WISH I could get him to have 5 oz, and hope to have 4 hours btwn bottles, but we shall see!

UPDATE:

DS is now 3.5 months (16 weeks) !!! he is wearing 6 month clothing, he is a big boy! he is drinking 6 ounces of formula.

Not sleeping totally through the night but will go down from 1030-530 which I'm happy with for now!

he is much less fussy now, and so smiley!

Re: newborn moms - check in!

DS will be 4 weeks this Thursday.

He is SO different from DD, it really threw me for a loop! DD was sleeping in 6-hour stretches our first night home from the hospital. Not this guy...he's up every 3 hours, or more often, like clockwork.

He barely sleeps during the day...unless, of course, we are out on the town and I have to drive Chat Icon

I love him to death...but having 2 under 2 is really exhausting. My DD is great with him, but she's 19 months and is in to EVERYTHING lately.

They have an uncanny ability to need to eat at the same time, and to nap on opposite schedules (3 days in a row, DS kept himself awake for about 4 hours and finally passed out just as DD was waking from her nap).

I am PRAYING for the day that he starts sleeping longer. He's already taking 4 oz. bottles, which totally boggles my mind! I am pumping and giving formula, so he's getting about 50/50 right now.

I am back to work in 4 weeks. I've been home with my DD since December. I am ready!

Re: newborn moms - check in!

Chase will be 8 weeks old on Monday. I am not sure how much he weighs as his 2 month visit is this week. He is VERY difficult to get to sleep! He will only sleep if you hold him during the day and maybe 20 minutes if you put him down. He is very difficult to put down at night as well but when he finally goes down he usually only wakes up once on the overnight. We have lots of smiles and coos but we are also dealing with reflux as well. I cant wait until we transition him into his own room because he is also a grunter. He loves his big brother a ton. I am not sure how much he is eating as he is primarily BF but he eats every 2-3 hours during the days and usually wakes around 2 amish and then around 7am on the over night.

I'll playChat Icon
Chase was 7 weeks old yesterday and at his last check up was 10lbs. 10oz. and 23 3/4 inches. My guess is he's at LEAST 12lbs now and probably more like 25 inches long because he outgrew all of his pjsChat Icon
He's eating 5oz. every three hours during the day, then in the evening he'll do a 5-7 hour stretch then 4 hour stretches till the morning. I wish he would do that long stretch at night! The other day he slept from 4:15pm-11:15pm without so much as stirring, then did a 5 hour stretch till 4:15 and then a 4 hour stretch. I think once we start giving him cereal, he's going to sleep like a log. I'm going to start putting some in his bedtime bottle soon, I really think he needs it.
He LOVES to be on his belly, hates his back, loves to "complain" as we call it, but I guess it's just this concerned looking little coo that he does. He's basically a really good baby, has his bad days still, but I guess we all doChat Icon

Here he is happy as a clam on his play mat. He just LOVES his friggin belly Chat Icon

Re: newborn moms - check in!

Thomas will be 7 weeks tomorrowChat Icon He had a Dr.s visit On Tuesday and he was weighting 9lbs 1 oz and was 20.5 in. (he was born 6lbs 14oz 19in)

Ds is taking 4-5 oz (averaging about 33 oz a day) he eats anywhere from 1 1.2 hors to 3 hours during the day but does longer stretches at night 9last night he went 7 hours without eatingChat Icon )Chat Icon

During the day he will take a few 1 1/2 hours naps maybe but we arent very consistant with this but at night he will sleep from around 8:30-12ish (maybe 1) and then up again at 4/5 am. After his 12/1am feeding he has trouble getting calm and to sleep. He is sleeping but he fusses (making noises and moving around) and cant get himself settled. It keeps us up and I end up taking him and sleeping with him on my chest. We need to figure out a solution. He doesnt like being swaddled because he likes his arms out.

He is smiling soooo much now, but not because we are funny yet Chat Icon but he is cooing tons and we love this! He loves LOVES music and when we sing to him (monkies jumping on the bed is a favorite) He is noticing the world now, looking at his mobile and tracking items. We turned on a cartoon and he loved looking at it. Bathtime is great - he LOVES it and is so comforted in the water!

Thomas is still wearing NB clothes, the 0-3 still seem to be swimming on him. We did move him to level 1 diapers because he has a big belly and no waiste the diapers sit like hip huggers Chat Icon

He loves his bouncy seat and his swing. The bouncy I think is his favorite .

Love my little man

Re: newborn moms - check in!

DD is 12 weeks. She's doing great and is such an awesome baby. She usually only fusses when she's wet or hungry and so far as been a dream!

At night she's been sleeping from about 9 or 10pm until 2 or 3am. I feed her and she goes right back down until around 6 or 7am.

I do feel that she may not be eating enough. She takes about 4oz every 3-4 hours (at night she'll go longer). Sometimes she only takes 3oz, like at her last feeding.

We go to the doctor next week, but she was 11.10oz at her 2 month appt. She was 9.10 at birth.

Here's a pic from today.

Re: newborn moms - check in!

My little nugget is 3 months today. She was born April 17th at 31 wks 5 days. Her due date would have been June 14th. She weighs 7lbs 13oz which is double her birth weight. She is EBF which I am very proud of being able to accomplish since she was in the NICU for 5 & weeks. I do miss milk/cheese, since I have to be dairy free for my little girl. We are still battling reflux which stinks. She is smiling and laughing up a storm.
She usually will go to sleep anywhere from midnigh to 2am, and then sleep about 5 or 6 hours. Then she will be up for an hour or so, and sleep again for about two hours. We still have about one night a week were she will be up every few hours usually b/c she slept too much while we were out and about.
I am just trying to adjust to life as a. SAHM. It is tough at times b/c dd was a preemie we can't go many places. Thank god for pea pod. Also we were told to limit visitors. So just family for now until she gets her vaccines next month. With it being so hot even our outdoor time is limited.

Re: newborn moms - check in!

hi everyone Chat Icon

my little guy is 8 weeks on Monday and 13 lbs, 23 inches last time we checked. He is NOT sleeping through the night at all, lol. I do have hope though b/c his stretches of sleep have been getting a lot longer.

He eats like a mad man, 6-8 ounces at a time w/bottle or a constant boob in his mouth. My DH calls him a milkaholic, haha.

He is smiling, cooing laughing, etc. He loves to be kissed on his mouth (only by dh and I of course Chat Icon ) it is hysterical he always giggles when I do it. He is just such a smoosh I have never felt so much amazement and joy all while being SO sleep deprived.

Here's my little man

Re: newborn moms - check in!

Hello!

My DD is 14 weeks old (born 4/9). She is 14.5 lbs and 24 1/2 inches. She has been coo'ing and stuff but recently found her voice. She now squeals and yells (a happy yell) and will wait for you to answer her back. Its adorable! What a happy baby she is, its amazing. She sleeps from 9-730/8 then is up for 1 1/2-2 hours and takes a 2-3 hour nap. The rest of the day are little half hpur cat naps. She eats 6oz at a time and about 30 oz a day. When her big brother is around she doesn't take her eyes off him. She has great head control so we just started putting her in the intellitainer (similar to exersaucer) and she loves it. She can even press the buttons although its more by accident. Lol! She is such a great baby.

Hi!

Frankie is almost 7 weeks old - it is going SO fast.

He weighed 11.4 at his 4 week check up, and when I weigh him at home it says he is over 13 lbs. He's EBF and LOOOOVES to eat. He is a great sleeper which helps a LOT because I have two 20 month olds running around. At night he wakes either once or twice depending on when he and I go to sleep for the night. He's really an angel, I am very thankful because with 3 under 2 I don't know what I would do if he was a very needy baby. He loves to be on his belly, he is already belly sleeping and when he is lounging he loves to lay inside the boppy so he can be propped up and see everything around him.

Re: newborn moms - check in!

Hey..My little girl is one month today. I weighed her today and she weighs 10.5 lbs. I think that is a lot but I'm not sure. We have her dr. appointment in a week. She is currently eating 3-4 oz every 3 hours. We go to bed b/w 10 and 11 whenever the last feeding is and she wakes up every three hours. We feed her after the three hours and wait till she falls asleep to put her back in the pack n play/bassinet. She makes many noises while sleepin in it which keeps me awake at times but i know she is ok when i hear noises :) Overall, Kaylin is a great baby ..she only fusses when she wants to get comfy or is hungry. Other than that she is a dream and I hope that before I go back to work in September that she sleeps more throughout the night.

Re: newborn moms - check in!

Hi Mommies.

My Jason is 3 weeks old. Not sure how much he weights yet, he's got his 1 month well visit next week. His last visit was when he was in the beginning of July and he was 8lbs 12oz (his birth weight).

He is doing great with breastfeeding. Eating every 2 hours. We had some latching issues with just my left breast for a while but we are working it out. I find laying down and bf him with the breast works. He is a messy nurser. He spits milk out the sides of him mouth. Soaks his onsies if I don't put a burp rag down.

He is very alert and holds his head up for a good amount of time.

He is just a love bug. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Although I may have created a problem. When I nurse him laying down in my bed I will leave him there if he falls asleep. I am still in the room, usually next to him reading or watching tv. But now he's gotten used to my bed that he hates his bassinet. He may have to go into his crib earlier than planned.Chat Icon

Re: newborn moms - check in!

My twin boys are 5 weeks old. They were born 5 weeks early and are weighing about 7.5 lbs and 7 lbs. They are on a 3 hour schedule and are eating 4 oz each feeding...they will take more if I offer it, but then they constantly spit up. I cannot EBF both so I am pumping and supplementing with formula. At night, they are starting to give me a 4 hour stretch...I am really hoping we can soon make it to 5 hours bc the night feedings take SO long - I need at least 45 min for each baby!
Overall, they are great babies. Much easier than my first DS. Then again, we havent taken them anywhere other than the Dr yet so I'm not even sure what that will be like Chat Icon! I dont think I will go anywhere alone with 3 under 3 anytime soon!!!!!

My Kate Marie is almost 4 months old (the 28th)

She has been sleeping from about 8 until about 5, 5:30 for the past few nights. And then will go back down for another hour or so.

She has to be close to 14 pounds. We go in a few weeks so we will know then.

She smiles and talks all the time. She loves, loves, loves her big sister. Amelia always talk to her and she just stares and stares at her. Chat Icon

Dylan is just over 3 weeks old. At his 2 week appointment he was 8 lbs 15 oz and 22 and 1/4 inches (he grew 15 oz and 2 and 1/4 inches in a week!! Chat Icon). He is already in 3 month clothing and some of that is already getting small on him - double Chat Icon Chat Icon

He is a big boy. He is long and is getting more and more solid with every day. So far he is a total joy Chat Icon

He is very inconsistent with feeding. I have been EBF and it has been going great! Sometimes during the day he'll want to eat every hour. Sometimes he will go 3 or 4 hours. At night he is generally up every 2 hours or so. He has never really given me more than 3.

DH was home for two weeks so this was my first week home alone with him. Things have been super busy here jam packed with visitors and trips out to the store, the park for walks or to grandma and grandpa's houses.

So far so good! I never would've imagined I would love a little baby so much. I am loving every moment so far Chat Icon

Re: newborn moms - check in!

my turn!

Mia is 3.5months and is 13lbs 8oz and 25.5 inches long! She's our little string bean and princess.

She is EBF and eats every 3 hours. I don't know how much she is eating because she doesn't take bottles. I know it's enough because she is gaining around 1lb each month. At night she sleeps from around 10pm-5am or 6am (sometimes 7) each night! She's been STTN since she was 4wks old. After she eats she is usually up for 2hours and then naps for 30mins-1hr.

She smiles and coos and now laughs up a storm. Only fusses when she fights sleep, but put her right in her swing or crib and she's out within minutes!

She has great head control so I think I'm going to try the exersaucer soon. She is VERY alert and attentive and likes alot of stimulation, tv, tummy time, bouncy seat, toy time, reading.

I am nervous that I am going to bite off one of her toes or nibble her cheeks!

My princess:

hi girls!
Dylan and Joseph are 12 weeks old.
they are now eating about 4 oz.. very few times 5oz. i feel like they are behind but they are gaining weight! so its all that matters.
they are probably around 12 lbs each now.
still in size 1 diapers!

Dylan is seeing the pediatric urologist for UTI issues and they are keeping an eye on his kidney's.
and Joey is having thyroid issues.. he is on meds and is getting bloodwork every month to see if the numbers change.

as far as sleeping.. we are not so lucky during the night.. its so hard as far as one waking up while the other is still sleeping. i feel like i am up all the time.
i just can't wait till they STTN
