Newborn moms, or BTDT moms
How much tummy time do you do? I try to do a few minutes a day, at least, but I kinda let it slip once in a while. DD hates it, and honestly, so do I. I'd much rather hold her on my lap & read her stories than watch her whine & grunt and struggle because she's unhappy, but I KNOW she needs it.

We do 20 minutes per day, that is about all she will take but it gives her the head ractice and she loves the tummy time too.

As a newborn, putting her on your chest of over your shoulder also constitutes as tummy time.
I rarely ever do true tummy time with DS because he hates it - maybe 5 minutes every other day. And he has fantastic neck/head control. I dont think its THAT big of a deal if you only do a few minutes a day.

Probably about 10-15 min per day. On the floor he only last so long and then he gets whiney lol but I also hold him on my belly or over my shoulder and he likes to look around - still helps strengthen his neck muscles.

DD hated tummy time..honestly I tried but we didn't do much of it. I started noticing her head getting flat but at that point she was holding her head up much more and eventually the flat head went away.

DS lays on his tummy on me a lot during the day, I'd say a total of 30 min per day. But he likes it. I tried to get him to lay on the couch on his tummy or even over the boppy on his tummy and he doesn't like it much. I have to try more.

Re: Newborn moms, or BTDT moms
DD actually doesn't mind it at all so we do it a lot. Lately a couple times a day i've been sitting her on my lap facing me and holding her around her body (under her arms) and she moves her head around and uses the muscles to keep it upright. I keep my knees bent behind her so I can rest her head on them if she needs it but in the last few days we've been seeing that she has great head/neck control!

We did this the last couple of days, and she seems to like it. I guess she doesn't have to be flat down on her tummy, just any way to help her gain head/neck control. I think I'll incorporate this method and see how we do. Thank you!
