Newborn question

Thinking ahead for Christmas - would you bring a 6 week old upstate for Christmas weeend if there will be other potentially sick children in the house? I'm concerned about my 3 1/2 year old nephew mostly.

Re: Newborn question

honestly, no. Before 8 weeks a fever can be life thretening to a baby.

Re: Newborn question

Hmmm thanks. My MIL is NOT going to be happy. She was upset at us for not bringing her to a house full of 20 people this past weekend at not even 2 weeks old...

ETA I don't know that my nephew will be sick but he is in school now and usually has a cold when we see him.

Re: Newborn question

I agree. I would not bring my baby around sick children. I hate when I go somewhere and someone has brought their child to a family event and they are sick. My aunt brought her son over to my grandmother's after having a stomach flu and we all wind up getting it!

Re: Newborn question

I would not take her. The Ped told me that I couldn't take her out to any big gatherings or anywhere for that matter for 8 weeks...

Re: Newborn question

I'm scared to not go - as she was leaving this weekend to go to the party we decided not to go to she murmured under her breathe - hope you change your mind and come today - she won't get anything with all that breast milk she's got in her. I'm sure this is one of many comments to come!

That was a very stupid comment...Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Can't people just understand that you have a newborn and shouldn't really be traveling anywhere.
