newborn questions - about bf - when is the baby full?
When you bf, how do you know baby is full and done? I just don't know sometimes, 10 min after I think we are done, hes crying and bonking his head with his mouth wide open onto me.
But then I put hm over my shoulder, he start sucking on my bare shoulder, and then spits up, I got so frustrated I wiped him and myself off, grabbed the blanket swaddled and shushed and put him in the swing and he's out. Its the only trick I got up my sleeve. But, I go through this at least twice a day and always feel guilty.
Would he fall asleep if he were still hungry? If he spits up does that mean he's probably had enough?

i think it sounds like he needs to be burped. even babies who are bf can suck in air or swallow too quickly. my DD (11days old) takes breaks (i think i have overactive letdown) and i burp her when she does. try burping your DS during or after his feeding and i bet he won't be so fussy or spit up on you.

It is tough at that age because they will fall asleep a lot. If he is sucking on your shoulder I'd try a pacifier. It is possible he is crying because he wants to suck, not because he's still hungry.

That's what I was hoping is true. So I actually tried a pacifier after the shoulder thing and he actually took it for a whole 5 minutes. But he rarely will do that.
As for burping, we attempt and usually do burp before switching sides. DS actually burps when on the breast too, its weird but he does it.
