Newborn Rash??
So when Ryan (he is 15 days old) was in the hospital the on call Ped said he had "newborn rash". He said it was completely normal and would run its course and clear up within a few weeks. He said don't put anything on it, most creams could actually make it worse.
Anyone else DC have this? They are little red bumps. They were just scattered on his body but now he has a whole patch on his cheek.
I am not sure if its part of the newborn rash or if he might be having a reaction to something. He is EBF but I have been on a strong antibiotics because I developed an infection in my c-section incision.

Re: Newborn Rash??
Landon had this from 2-4 weeks. The ped said it was "baby acne". At one point around 3 weeks it got reallly bad, but now it is all cleared up at 5.5 weeks.
ETA: The ped said if it got really bad to put a little bit of 1% hydrocortisone cream on it, which I did only once. It seemed to help.

Re: Newborn Rash??
More than likely it's his skin adjusting to air the first time. Their skin freaks out a lot in the beginning.
I'm assuming that whoever put you on the antibiotics knew you were breastfeeding, correct? I would doubt it's a reation. Sounds like baby acne to me.
If it starts to look angry or looks like it's really bothering him, call the ped. Otherwise, I think you're fine.

My OB put me on the antibiotics and I did advise him I am EBF. I also called the ped after I was prescribed the antibiotics and he said to just watch out for thrush.
Thanks for the advice!
