newborn sleep help needed.
i forgot what it was like to be sleep deprived. wondering how to condition the baby so he isnt confused between night and day. i dont let him sleep longer than 3 hours and try to keep him up during the day. but still seems like he wakes up 2-3 times in the early morning. any advice would be awesome .thanks.

Re: newborn sleep
How old is the baby? got my baby girl to sleep thru night at about 9 weeks.. as long as baby gets enough formula during the day you do not have to feed them in the middle of night or early am.. after a while they catch on that they will not be eating so they sleep thru it. My baby started going to bed at 11pm and getting up at 5:30 then moved on to 10:30 getting up at 6:30 ... now at 3 1/2 months she is solid on 9:30pm to 7am.

Re: newborn sleep help needed.
my son is 2 1/2 weeks old. i know its early to expect him to sleep through the night but when i give him a bottle in the daytime he passes out right away. when i give him one at night he fusses in the crib and wants to be soothed. i nurse during hte day and at night but some times give him bottles of bm if im too tired. either way he still fusses and is up for a good 2-3 hour block. how do i get him to move this to the morning not inthe middle of the night? TIA

Re: newborn sleep help needed.
Are you making sure that the noise level is high during the day, and keeping everything super quiet at night?
I found my mistake with Kristina. I used to just feed her in the middle of the night in our room, but then it got to the point where she was being super noisy when she ate. So I started moving it out into the living room... Well starting 4-5 am it gets VERY bright in my LR, so she would want to play for an hour b4 she went back down.
I have recently begun bringing her into the den to feed her. No lights, no sounds, no talking.... nothing. She falls right back to sleep then.
