Newsday.com subscribers.... can someone please help me?
Would anyone be willing to help me out here?
My DH needs an article from Newsday.com that we are not able to get because we live in NJ and don't subscribe to Newsday or Optimum Online.
Maybe someone can just copy the text if you can open it and email it to me?
Here's a link to the article we are looking for:
Newsday article link
If you can help, please send me an FM and I can send you my email address.
Thanks so much!

HUNTINGTON
Published: March 22, 2006 7:00 PM By BRANDON BAIN. STAFF WRITER
Long Island towns and businesses increasingly are looking
into global positioning systems to improve efficiency and better monitor their
workers.
Hempstead, Oyster Bay, Brookhaven and Smithtown are investigating the
technology, town and Sprint Nextel officials said at a GPS summit in Huntington
yesterday.
Town officials said their interest was piqued by a Newsday story on use of
the technology in Babylon, where efficiency has improved but workers have
objected to Big Brother tracking their every move.
"With what's going on in the town of Babylon, GPS has really become a
reality," said Barry Bree of Oyster Bay's Public Safety Department, which might
use GPS in public safety vehicles and town boats.
"We're not looking to hurt the employee; we're just looking to get the
employee to do one simple thing: do the job they're getting paid for," he said.
A crowd of more than 100 private and public officials from Long Island and
New York City heard keynote speaker and Babylon Supervisor Steve Bellone tout
GPS as an efficient management tool that quickened cleanup efforts during the
last two major snowstorms.
Sprint Nextel officials said more advanced forms of GPS allow workers to
take pictures and log specific details of work done at a site, such as filling
potholes, and transmit photos and information back to supervisors.
Babylon installed GPS in most of its 250-vehicle fleet in January and
sparked controversy earlier this month when Newsday revealed GPS devices had
detected loafing by two workers who later were disciplined by the town.
Since then, several local entities have asked the town about the
technology. Most recently, the Brookhaven Department of Parks inquired about
using GPS, while the Hauppauge School District and the Town of Smithtown are
considering using GPS for public safety vehicles.
Lt. Ed Truglio of the Nassau County Police said his department might use
GPS in its 400-vehicle fleet.
North Hempstead first installed GPS in a dozen street sweepers last year.
Supervisor Jon Kaiman said he is proceeding cautiously and plans to have
devices in an additional 10 to 20 salt spreaders, snowplows and new hybrid
electric buses by the end of the year.
"I don't know if we need to know where every truck in the fleet is any
given time," he said.

Does that work for you?
WOW! You're fast!
I think this is the only way to get the article because even if you tried to email it to me from the Newsday site, we probably still couldn't open it if we aren't subscribers.
Was that the whole article?
Thanks!
