Niagara Falls? passport?
My parents plan to go to Niagara Falls this summer and neither of them have a passport. Do they need one?

Re: Niagara Falls? passport?
Yes but only if they plan to cross into Canada to view the Falls ( the view is best from the Canadian side). If they plan to stay on the NY side then they don't need it. Most of the touristy stuff is in Canada from what I remember (maybe someone else can update, I haven't been therein 10 yrs).

Passports?
from what I can tell, yes they do. I'll be going in August and will bring it in case we decide to cross over.

There are a lot of fun things to do in the American side (Maid of the Mist, Cave of Winds?) to keep occupied for a day. But I think there is more on the Canadian side for longer trips.

Re: Niagara Falls? passport?
If they live in NY they can just get an enhanced license instead of a passport. DMV issues it, and it's good for Canada travel and comes quickly

I was just going to suggest this! Easier and cheaper!

FYI you can only use this if you are driving or taking the bus. You cannot use it if you are flying - it's only good for land border crossings.
