Re: Niagara Falls/Toronto
We are actually staying in Buffalo.
We are going up for a family wedding, but extended the trip a bit.
Dh grew up there, so we will be doing a lot of local things too.

Re: Niagara Falls/Toronto
I have not been to Toronto, but DH and I went to Niagara Falls last month. I'd recommend the Canadian side- it's a lot more commercial, built up and crowded (though it may not be as bad when you go) but I have read in more than one place that the view is better from the Can. side.
Falls parking was $18 CAN I think, and you still had to walk a bit. We found a small private lot near Planet Hollywood and it was $10 for the day. The food at Planet Hollywood was surprisingly good (I was dying of hunger and it was the first place we passed).
We stayed in a small town called Niagara on the Lake. It was about 20 minutes from NF on Lake Ontario. It's a gorgeous little town- there are lots of little shops and restaurants and they have a big theater festival, the Shaw Festival, that goes through mid. Nov. We saw two really good plays. I think the site is shawfest.com.
