Nice areas in Westchester close to NYC?
Hi ladies - I know nothing about westchester - just wondering if anyone could suggest some nice areas in westchester - the closer to the city and metro north the better. TIA

Re: Nice areas in Westchester close to NYC?
I know someone at work who lives in Pelham, which is pretty close to NYC and has its own MetroNorth stop.

Re: Nice areas in Westchester close to NYC?
We had friends who were looking for a place in Bronxville, it's really nice and has a Metro-North stop.

Bonxville is beautiful, but very expensive, unfortunately most of the really nice areas on the Metro North are pretty expensive.

Re: Nice areas in Westchester close to NYC?
Bronxville is gorgeous but it is really small if you want a house in the actual school district. Otherwise you will be in Bronxville P.O. where the houses are gorgeous and not cheap, but it puts you in the Yonkers school district. Taxes are lower in the P.O. SIL lives there and is either going to do private school or move when the kids are of age.
We used to live in Larchmont which is really nice. Scarsdale is nice too but I don't know if they have their own metronorth.
Irvington is also really nice. DH and I want to either live there or New Paltz.

Re: Nice areas in Westchester close to NYC?
Bronxville is rather small as far as the town goes, but there are co-ops for sale within it if school districts are a concern for you.
Scarsdale
Rye is definitely nice
Tuckahoe's pretty cute around the train station.
Some parts of Harrison are nice.
Some parts of White Plains are nice (not so much by the train station, unless you're living RIGHT next to it).
