OB/GYN in NYC/Westchester rec
Hi All! I need a recommendation for a new OB/GYN in NYC or Westchester. I had an appointment with mine today and we had a sort of negative interaction where she was sort of dismissive of my concern. After speaking to a friend who had a similar experience, I decided it might be best to try out a new one before I start TTC this summer. So, please let me know if you have anyone to recommend and also could you say what hospital they are affiliated with. Thanks!

Re: OB/GYN in NYC/Westchester rec
I go to Dr. Kenneth Kaplan, who is affiliated with NYU Medical Center. He has offices in NYC (30th off 2nd avenue) and Westchester (I'm not sure where - I think Scarsdale)
He's very laid back but is very thorough. I like him a lot. I wouldnt say he spends tons of time with each patient, but he always answers all of my questions.
I really really like NYU medical center - I've had the genetic bloodwork and the 3d ultrasound there. My aunt worked there as a nurse and has raved about its facilities.

I'm not pregnant, but work at a hospital. I go to Eastchester OB/GYN. They are actually in Scarsdale. The practice is all women. My sister also goes to them and had a wonderful birth in September. I highly recommend them.

Re: OB/GYN in NYC/Westchester rec
I was looking for one not too long ago. I went to Vanessa Grano in Rye. She's associtaed with Greenwich Hospital. She was pretty good, another one in the same gorup I heard good things about was Dr. Ligett.
Just curious - who was your doc? Just want to know who to avoid.

Re: OB/GYN in NYC/Westchester rec
Thanks for all the recs! I am in Bronxville so I don't want to go to north in westchester but I am willing to have an OB in the city since I work in the Bronx and can get there easily from there or home.
Spooks, Mine was in NYC. Her name is Rachel Villanueva. She had always been nothing but wonderful but in the midst of my "minicrisis" she wasn't what I needed or wanted. I imagine I will have plenty of "minicrises" when PG and that is not the response I want!

ooh I have to FM you to see if you are who I *think* you are !!!
Well not to hijack, but yes I highly recommend Eastchester OB/GYN as well .. great practice, all the doctors are wonderful.. Dr. Abbatista delivered my son but I saw all 4 doctors throghout my pregnancy and would have been comfortable with any of them delivering him...
I can also recommend an OB in Bronxville who I also really liked, but she stopped taking my insurance and that is when I switched to this other practice. The doctor was Polly Kanganis, she was a sole practitioner. I really liked her a LOT, she was very compassionate and caring when I had miscarried my previous pregnancy .. she is affiliated with Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, she is on Ponfield Road if I recall correctly. Her number is (914) 771-9441
