Nice beach resorts on Long Island...for out of town guests
a friend of mine is looking to stay at a beach resort, type for a couple of days, somewhere nice on LI, I couldn't think of anywhere particular...thanks

not ON the beach...but there is the motel by Land's End in Sayville.

otherwise there are tons of options for Fire Island. a coworker of mine said it's a really slow summer and people are giving huge discounts on their rentals.
If she doesn't mind going out east a bit - gurneys
or new in Long Beach
