Nice, but inexpensive rug pads?

We just got a new rug for our LR and the one we had in there was smaller-- but it was SO soft and plush. The rug pads from BBB are inexpensive, but they are really more for no slippage as opposed to creating a softer rug. I have one from Crate & Barrel which is nice for Sasha's room-- but I know that the size I would need from there would be $$$.

Has anyone found one they like that wouldn't be a fortune?

Thanks!

I saw some no slip types at Homegoods a few months ago that were very thick and had a cushiony feel. They weren't too $$.

I was going to suggest Marshalls home goods too. This is where we have gotten ours in the past. They always have different ones and some seem thicker than others

Re: Nice, but inexpensive rug pads?

For rug pads, you can just go to home depot and they sell the rolls of it (they use it under carpet)..

and it's not very expensive -- I think you can get 8X10 of "the good stuff" for less than $40. you can cut it and tape it together with duct tape to make the exact shape you need. and use the non slip gripper under that.

Don't order the one from home depot... we just put it down yesterday.. no extra cushion. I ordered in it on line and it was the "deluxe" i thought it would be nice and thick.. oh well, its down now!

this is what we do as well. Actually my parents bought a full roll for like $100 and they, my sister and I all take from it - and they store it in their garage.

Have you tried Macy's furniture store right off Old Country road on Glen Cove road? They have a furniture clearance area - and they had rug pads on clearance. I know that they have rug pads I have seen them but didn't look at prices - but a friend said they were decent.
