Night One without the Miracle Blanket....

S U C K E D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jack was in pjs and woke up at 2 with his little arms and legs flailing ALL OVER the place. It was like he had no idea what to do with them. It was kind of cute.

I gave him 3 ounces and then he went back to bed.

He woke up again at 5....another 3 ounces then came to bed with me.

He then woke up for the day at 6:30.

My question is this --- he went down at 7:30pm. He is def. getting enough sleep right? The times he woke up were about a half hour each time.

So, all in all he slept about 10 hrs. That's ok right?

10 hours is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even though it wasnt straight through.

He will get used to sleeping without being swaddled. Every night will get easier!Chat Icon

ITA. His first strech was 6.5 hours which DD is doing still now. I just though, since he likes to be snuggled what about a sleep positioner?

I agree.

Even for babies who seems to "sleep through the night" there are at least two periods of wakefulness where you can hear them babbling etc. and then they fall back. So if he woke up twice that's pretty natural. He may drop the feeding during one of those wakeful periods in a couple of weeks.

PHew - ok - thanks girls. I didn't know if I was doing something wrong or if that was ok.

I have the sleep positioner - but it's behind his back bc he sleeps on his side (bc the ped saw slight flat head)

That's what I said to DH today. He does sleep a good amount of hours - I was just unsure about if I should be feeding him when he wakes up. I tried giving him just the pacifier - sometimes that works, and sometimes it doesn't.

I don't know how you do it and go to work - I would lose my mind - I am no good without sleep!

Hoping Gianna loves her knew room and sleeps like a champ! Chat Icon

Diana...I know that when you are tired it's hard to see but Jack is actually doing a great job (and so are you Chat Icon ) with the night sleeping. It sounds like he is on his way! Eventually you will see that one of the two wakings will drop off..then he will just wake once for a bottle....soon he will sleep through the night...but like Theresa said...that might not mean the he's completely knocked out the entire night (you will hear him "stir") but that he doesn't cry for you to get him. He will soothe himself and get back to sleep within minutes.

Hang in there...YOU ARE DOING GREAT!!!!

Re: Night One without the Miracle Blanket....

Good for you guys, it sounds like progress. DD still won't sleep (night time or nap) w/o being swaddled. We've tried 1 arm out, etc...but she needs to be fully swaddled. It's frustrating b/c she wakes while we're swaddling sometimes, but also b/c she's starting to get out of the swaddle sometimes and that makes me so nervous. So it's great that you guys are making great progress!! Maybe you'll inspire us to try not swaddling soon, but now that I'm back to work, it will be tough!

Hope he continues to do well with it! Chat Icon
