Nightmare on 1st Street!!!!!

I was 8 weeks pregnant and was on cloud nine my life couldn’t be better. Then it happened, we went for a check up and no heartbeat. I heard and felt my heart burst into a millions pieces. How could this happen, the week before we were told that the baby was perfect and very strong. How could God give me a little angel and then take it away???? Dr. B's face just went blank and so did my DH, they both couldn’t believe it. Dr. B said that he was so sorry he looked like he was gong to cry and hugged me. Dr. B emails me the same day and tells me that he will find out what went wrong and he will make our dreams of being parents come true. What an amazing doctor, I love that man!!!

The nightmare gets worse...

The day of my d&c, the Dr, who isn’t my regular ob/gyn calls me and tells me that they cant do the surgery b/c she never got the official report from Dr. B. She got the sono picture but not the report. She could tell that the baby was dead, these are her words, but she needs the report!! REALLY!!!!!! Where is the compassion????? Dr. B comes to my rescue once again and gets her the report. To top that off my regular ob/gyn calls me to tell me that he’s so sorry to hear what happened and in the same sentence he tells me that he does appreciate that Dr. B recommending me to another doctor. The freaking nerve of some people!!!!!!!! I then reminded him ever so kindly that he said "I can’t handle cases like yours you need to see a specialist" Then he proceeds to tell me that he was hurt because I didn’t ask him to do the surgery. I explained that I was told by his staff that he wasn’t in and wasn’t available. UNBELIVABLE!!!!!,the day of my d&c he does this to me, I have been with this doctor for over 20 years and he pulls this ****!!!!!

DH and I get to the hospital and every person who sees you HI what are you here for???? I can’t tell you how many times I had to say I lost my baby and I'm here for a d&c, my heart broke a little more each time. The procedure was only supposed to take 3 hr total from the surgery till you wake up but nooooooo it took 9hours!!!!!!! I got so sick from the anesthesia; between the vomiting, a migraine and what I just went through, I just couldn’t stop crying.

A few days later I’m covered from head to my toes with hives!!!! DH wanted to go back to the hospital, I told him over my dead body!! We went to my regular family doctor for help. Before I had to say anything and he took one look at me and gave me a cortisone shot.

You would think that my nightmare was over, WRONG.

After a week of waiting to see what went wrong with the pregnancy, (not too long from what I hear), the Dr went home instead of calling me back to tell me the results. Dr. B emailed me to see how I was feeling and if the testing came back. I explained to him what was going on and he got ******!!!! He called over to her office and got the report faxed to him. The test came back inconclusive; there wasn’t enough tissue to test so we will not be able to find out what went wrong after all. He said that he wanted me in his office first thing in the morning; he didn’t think that the other doctor did the d&c correctly. I flipped out that was the last straw!!!!! I couldn’t go through that again. We went into the Dr B's in the morning and he said that I am fine and there is nothing wrong, that this sometimes happens.

I understand that everything happens for a reason, that it was Gods will because the baby wasn’t healthy but I’m still in so much pain. My heart goes out for anyone that has gone through this or has to go through this. I wouldn’t wish this upon my worst enemy!!!! If there one wish that I could make come true is that everyone would have happy and healthy pregnancies and that no one would ever have to go through this. omg im practically crying reading your post. i am so sorry for your nightmare.

i also see dr. b and i really do believe he is a miracle worker. he emailed me some very comforting words after my second chemical / m/c. i still go back and reread the email a lot whenever i am feeling sad about my situation. he really is an amazing person.

I am so sorry that you went through such an horrible experience. No one should have to experience the extra stress that you did on top of a m/c.

Thank you for you kind wishes, thoughts and prayers. It really does help knowing that there are women like yourselves out there for support. I cant tell you how much that means to me.

What a horrible ordeal!! I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I feel like they should make it as easy as possible for such a horrible time. Doctors forget about emotional aspects ALOT! I'm glad you had Dr. B in your corner. That had to help out a lot.

First of all I'm sorry you had to suffer this loss..it is not easy to deal with but it will get better...Second I am sorry you had all the extra stress and issues to deal with...stay strong and vent as much as you need to!
