Nikon SLR camera? d60, D80 & d90
I know this question has been asked and i have done a search and am still so confused.
MY DH and I have the option to purchase one of these cameras and I can't decide which one. I know there are some features of the D60 that are better then the D80 and some that aren't better. I know the D90 has the video option but how good is the video option if you have this. We were going to buy a HD video camera too--will I still need one if I buy the D90 and if so should I buy the HD one or a less expensive one.
I don't want to buy one and then want to upgrade in a few years, but on the other hand I am not a camera person but want to learn and be able to take great pictures of my new baby.
I am just SOOOOOOOOO confused and we have to make a decision by the end of the month.
Please help TIA

I have the D60..I went to Cameta today and was talking with a few of the guys there. Pound for pound they said that the D90 was definitely the way to go right now...unless you wanted to up the ante and go with the D300.

Thats what I have heard I just don't know if it is necessary to have all the bells and whistles of the D90.
Anyone else?

I have the d60. I looked at the 90 but I just didn't see the need to go crazy with the video and all, so got the 60 instead (got a two VR lens kit) and am so glad that I did.
I really think that the video portion of the 90 is the only leg up it has on the 60 and that in and of itself was not enough for me!

If you want to learn photography and you are going to have the camera for a long time, go for the D90. If you are going to mostly keep it in auto go for the D60.

I was debating between the D90 & the D200. I'll try to find the link where I posted each debate from my fellow camera geeks I know. These guys are ubergeeks & heads above me.
I did get the D90 and am getting used to it. I upgraded from a D70.
Here's the thread: http://www.lifamilies.com/chat/topic.aspx?&P=1&ID=362337&Highlight=D90#P4417168
As for the video portion, it's not going to be the quality of a video camera - just as photos from a video camera aren't going to compete with a DSLR. But it was cool to have. It only takes about 5 minutes of video, which is more than enough time to get the stuff I want in & then I can post for the grandparents to see.

We just got the D60 for christmas and we love it! We didn't need anything fancy (and didn't need video) and didn't want to spend too much, so the D60 was perfect. The pictures come out amazing! We got a great deal from prestigecamera.com.
