I think more people tested during the Christmas break to be with family around the holidays. Now not many people are testing which is probably driving the numbers down.
Numbers are also down in large part because everyone is using the home tests and home tests are not counted in the numbers. In the last few weeks everyone I know with covid tested on a home test so they aren’t in the numbers…. I almost wonder if that was part of the push for home tests. It gives the appearance that whatever the state is doing is working because numbers are down
Maybe they should have given them out a long time ago and life could have gone back to normal as the numbers would be so low and people would have just taken care of themselves at home.

I also think though that the numbers over the holidays weren't as high as should've been reported - as I know many who were sick didn't want to deal with the chaos of testing. So they just stayed home and recovered...
I think though, even if not everyone is reporting in, the numbers should be on a sharp decline since so many people were sick in Dec/Jan.

Ha! Remember how the unvaccinated were blamed for every little thing, often were called selfish/ignorant, and it was their fault that covid was still in existence? I mean there are still some people that stupidly think that way but at least a good majority know better now.

Funny as the store I was in yesterday made THEIR decision already and took off the sign on the doors and employees were maskless. In many stores people are not wearing them anymore either.

I'm seeing more and more maskless in stores lately. Nobody from the counties are enforcing this nonsense and the stores are probably getting tired of having their workers argue with people. And then people themselves are done as well

Yes I have never heard anyone in a store I have been in say anything to anyone.

Honestly, why do you ALWAYS have to ask dumb, pointless questions?
No, they don't bother my kids in that they are use to wearing them day in and day out.
Yes, they would much prefer to NOT wear them because life behind a mask is not normal.
But you knew that, of course. You just like to hear yourself talk in an attempt to drum up some kind of drama.

You just have gone on and on about how they don't mind them so didn't think there reaction would be "over the moon" like most other kids would be. Shrug.

Please find something better to do rather than hang on my every word and overexaggerate everything I say. It's weird.
I don't feel like engaging any further with you as it's ALWAYS an unproductive waste of my time.
Enjoy your night.

NJ lifting school mask mandate
I just read that CT is ending their school mask mandates on Feb 28th. I am really hoping that NY is next. There is absolutely no reason anymore. Time to give it up Kathy!

Nah our bitchh is on a power trip. She'll keep the mandates. You'll have to pry them out of her cold dead hand.
The mask mandate for NY schools is set to expire the 21 or 22 of February.

Yep but I am sure she is looking to reinstate it... Why else would she be fighting so hard to overturn that ruling. For what? a few weeks? Please. Her agenda is clear.

But with the stay that was granted, it will be pushed into March... And if it's viewed as constitutional, she can extend it.
The stay may be overturned tomorrow, fingers crossed.

There is so much more at stake than the mask issue. The Nassau County decision strikes down the rule making authority for the NYS Department of Health. Could you imagine if the state department of health couldn't regulate blood donations - or require blood get tested for communicable diseases before being used in a transfusion? Because at the end of the day, that's what the decision does. It essentially says the department of health can't issue regulations. That is the reason to appeal the decision even though it was set to expire.

From the Patch, she will have a conference on Wednesday...
According to Newsday, Hochul also said it was"premature" to make a decision Wednesday on the mask mandate in schools.

Just saw that California is doing away with masks and only keeping for schools and nursing homes. And here we are in NY with the witch trying her best to keep us in check
