What happens if you get charged with a DWI?

Do you go to jail

PS_I don't drive so this has ZERO to do with me or anyone I know

obviously, you'd get life in prison!

most likely community service - losing your Lic for 3 months

I don't know from personal experience but from friends and family

you spend the night you are arrested - can't get picked up till morning - car is usally impounded

1st offense -loose license for 3 months or 3-6 months restricted license only to and from work -plus huge - also get a probabtion officer assigned to you- can go to jail mattering on numbers

2nd -offense - 6months lose license and/or jail time -restriction on leaving the country before sentencing

3rd offense - jail time

this is all for not being in an accident

also they don't process your renewal of license paperwork till after the 3 month or 6 month period ends - so it is a little longer than that
