no idea what to get grandpa for xmas
He's 85 and doesn't get around very well these days. He spends most of his time in his recliner chair watching tv. he likes to have his cup of tea and snack while watching tv from his recliner. he used to read a lot but his eyes get really tired easily and so he doesnt as much anymore. I always buy him clothes, for practically every occasion now , but i want to get him something unique. ANy thoughts?

my grandpa (he's 94) loves his snack food, so I always get him something from Hickory Farms.

A picture frame with a copy of the picture in your avator (BRU sells them).
A zip front sweater.
Time with you.
Large print books.

How about some books on CD? He could sit in his chair and listen to the stories while he has his tea.

I was going to say this too.
How about a "date" for dinner w/ you and DH? I did that for my grams bday this year and she was THRILLED!!
Does he like chocolates/sweets? How about a gift basket? Or something from Lindt or Godiva? Even something homemade? 
Does he like puzzles? Maybe a subscription to a large print puzzle book (did this for my gram once too)

I'm making my grandma (almost 90) a food basket with all of her favorite candies and cookies. For DH's grandma I think I am going to make a bunch of dinners and freeze them for her. She lives alone so I think she'd appreciate having a nice meal she just has to heat up.

thanks for your suggestions everyone! I think I'm going to get him either flannel sheets or a nice throw blanket to match his new "fancy" recliner. These were my mom's suggestions and since she lives with him she knows what he really needs so I think I'll go with one of those! You all were so helpful though and had some really cute ideas. I'll have to keep them in mind for the future :)
