NO MORE BOTTLES!!!!!

After numerous attempts since DS was 16 months old, I finally got him off the bottle. He was off all bottles except a night time one at 16 months. Then he got sick and ended up in the hospital. He refused anything by mouth and to avoid anything drastic (feeding tube), I gave him his bottle back. He was good up until he was almost 2 with them. (only got milk in them)
I got him off of them again and then we moved and he regressed.. Back on them after a week...

The day before his 3rd birthday in October, I did it again.. He was off of them for almost 2 weeks. Then "Sandy" hit. He regressed again. He got sick and refused fluids again. Back on the bottle... He has a Sensory Processing Disorder with severe oral aversions... Eating is not something he likes to do. So when he regresses and starts to lose wight, I have NO choice but to go back to them..

We went away last month and I brought all of his bottle with me. I weaned him off of the morning one first and then the night one. It only took 2 days.. Now he drinks out of what he calls his "big boy baba"... It works for me!!!! He asks for them once in a while. But I told him we left them at the hotel for all the babies there.. He still drinks the same amount of milk and that is good for him. He barely weighs 30 pounds...

It is the playtex sippy cups and a cars sippy cup. He has been using straw cups for water/juice since about 9 months old. I tried milk in a straw cup but it was not a big hit!! I will take what I can get for now...

NO MORE BOTTLES!!!!!

Congrats! Getting DD off the bottle was the longest process for us so far. It's a huge accomplishment that only "we" can really enjoy lol. We finally about a month ago got rid of the sippy cups and now she is finally drinking out of a "adult" cup. It only took 6 years!! : ).

Re: NO MORE BOTTLES!!!!!

My son can drink from an open cup but because he won't sit still, we don't let him have them a lot... He will swipe whatever we are drinking and drink it... No milk in an open cup though... But I will take what we have now!!!!
