no orientation for special ed. preschool???
Ds is starting next week at a new school. He qualified for an integrated class with services. He will be bussed to school. They srt Wednesday with no orientation or meet and greet on Tuesday. Ds has been home full-time with me all summer and before that he was in daycare full time at a place where he has been since he was a baby. In addition, his sister was there and his aunt worked there so there was never a separation issue. I am so worried for him just putting him on that bus To arrive at a school where he doesn't know a soul. I would imagine that this will be very scAry for him. He is verbal, but can shut down around New people. I don't think I should drive him because he would probably freak when I leave. Thoughts??? Do most special ed. Preschool s typically do this? At the very least, I will show him the outside of the school on Tuesday, but I am so worried for him. 
Eta: He just turned 3 this summer.

I would call and ask if you can come in on Tuesday, maybe to drop off supplies and extra clothes, and take him. I've worked in several special ed preschools and find it hard to believe they'd say no.

I think it's ridiculous that these special ed pre-schools don't have a day for kids to come and get acquainted with the school and teachers. My son has been going to daycare and will start his new preschool on Weds but I still know it will be an adjustment. You would think if anywhere would, special ed preschools would have orientation!

I can't even remember what we did so many years ago, BUT, I would follow the bus to the school, and let him know you are doing so. That might lessen the nervousness!

Someone must be around.
I stopped in last week where DS went last year for Pre k because he will be doing pre care there again this year, and I needed to pick up paperwork.
Someone is always in at 7am.
