special ed teachers (preschool ) ?
Does anyone know where this lady can turn for an advocate for her son?
Doesnt the county provide a coordinator to parents ?
i feel so bad

I am a special education teacher who attends IEP meetings and is educated in the laws of special education, but I am not a lawyer by any means. I wonderful if I can help?

arent parents allowed one advocate of their choice? (can be anyone) at the IEP meeting? (Well preschool is IFSp right?)
Im sure you can give her advice, but im not sure how involved she would want you to be.
maybe even if you tell her what agency or organization she can contact, maybe they can steer her in the right direction as far as legal advice if necessary?

She should request a family advocate from the district. There are also agencies in Suffolk and Nassau that will provide the service.
