No sure if this is the right place to post this question (sorry long)

I have some questions about a reproductive endocronologist as my midwife suggested I see one. First a little background on my situation.

I have one DD. I got pregnant when I was 35, first month trying and had her when I was 36. Thankfully, healthy pregnancy.

When I was 39 I got pregnant, again first month trying but I started spotting at 5 weeks and miscarried at 6.3 weeks. When I had the U/S after to confirm everything passed, they saw something that they said could either be a clot that didn't come out or a polyp. They wanted me to come back after my next period to see if it was still there. Long story but I ended up not going back for another U/S (honestly, I forgot about the possible polyp).

We started trying again 5 months later and since I was nearing my 40th bday I decided to try OPKs this time. I bought wondfos and I used them for 4 (or 5) months and with the exception of one time where there was the slightest hint of pink, they were always stark white. I followed directions to a T, then started testing mid morning and mid afternoon. Nothing, always stark white. I realized later it was probably a bad batch. It was stressing me out so I started winging it since I had gotten pregnant twice without using OPKs. I was guessing when I was ovulating based on CM, etc and I thought that my leuteal phase was 16 days.

After several months of nothing, I decided to buy CBE OPK and easily got a smiley my first month. My period came 13 days after smiley which means that my leuteal phase is probably 12 days. I was way off! Next month I used CBE again and got pregnant.

I just went for 8 wk sono and found out there is just an empty sac. Now I am waiting to miscarry naturally. They want me to come back after to have a sono to check if it is a polyp which may have caused the first MC. Midwife suggested I see an RE because I am "on a timeline" since I'm 41 now.

So my question is, what kind of testing would an RE do in my situation? I am not sure if I was having a hard time getting pregnant this time. It looks like our timing was very off.

Is there a way for them to test what caused the miscarriages (although if there is a polyp, my midwife thinks this likely caused the first).

Also, any RE recommendations in Suffolk?

At your initial visit an RE would most likely do bloodwork to check your hormone levels and a sono. He'd also probably suggest a saline sono to check for polyps. Unfortunately, there isn't anything they could do now to check what caused the m/c. Could be a genetic issue or the polyps. No suggestions on an RE since the one I used was in the city. Good luck, hope you get some answers!

I'm sorry you're going through this Chat Icon . I wonder if it would be worth doing a d&c so that they could test the tissue of the sac Chat Icon , again I'm very sorry and agree with the previous poster about what to expect with the RE.

I'm so sorry. I would think they could check bloodwork or something for the miscarriages. The ones where you said it was pink and then changed to white sound like chemical miscarriages. When I went to the RE one of the boxes to check for the reason being there was multiple miscarriages. My issue was getting pregnant so I don't have experience with that (I did have one missed miscarriage at 10 weeks and had a d&c a year before I conceived my twins and still think about that baby and always will Chat Icon).
