Not sure if right place to post (pregnancy mentioned) UPDATE at bottom

Hi,
I apologize if i shouldn't be putting this here. But you ladies seem to know everything about everything.

Found out last week was pregnant after IUI. Been on Crinone for low progesterone. Started bleeding today, it's like the start of my period. It seems to be increasing as the day is going on. Not really cramping, maybe just like mild period cramps. Going into doctor later today, but I was just wondering if anyone thought there was any hope for this pregnancy, or if it's just over.

Thanks, and I apologize again if this is the wrong place.

Thanks,
Michelle

I can't say if its over or not but I definitely think you need to see the dr. You could be having a chemical. Did you have a Beta done last week? I hope it turns out to be nothing. Sending lots of Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thank you.

I did have two betas last week, and HCG tripled in 48 hours.
Am going to the doctor later this afternoon, but I'm not feeling very optimistic.

Thank you all so much. Really.

So, Dr. did a sono, and the yoke sac is still there. I am 5 weeks, and right now what should be there for 5 weeks is there.

I have been on Crinone. They want me to start progesterone injections. This is very difficult for me to explain...but I feel like at this point I just want to stick with the Crinone (which I did not want to start in the first place, but now I have to stay on it). I understand that it is just a different delivery system, but it isn't sitting right with me.

Years ago, after medicated IUI, I had a very sick baby and a bad pregnancy -multiple birth defects, very severe. It was a nightmare. It was a twin pregnancy and after losing the sick baby, our one child was born preterm, tiny. When we decided to seek support to try to get pregnant this time, we did not want to use drugs, and our thinking was that if it wasn't meant to be, it wasn't meant to be, and we were okay with that.
I did not want to start the crinone, but I did, and right now I am just trying to reconcile that this pregnancy might not be viable. I really don't want to push my body to do what isn't coming naturally for it. Not at this point. I hope I'm making sense. My husband and I agree and feel strongly.
So, I'll find out what my progesterone is tomorrow, but I honestly feel like I am having a miscarriage. The blood flow is like the first day of my period.

It could go either way. To be honest if it is picking up its probably not a good sign. However, I started bleeding 3 days after starting vaginal progesterone and it didn't stop until I was on the progesterone for 4 weeks. Baby was fine the whole time and all the blood was old and from the suppositories.

Sorry you went through such a traumatic experience before. The bleeding is scary but not uncommon especially with crinone. I bled red with progesterone suppositories and thought it was over. I had a healthy baby girl.

My BFF was pregnant at the same time as me. Her progesterone was so low her RE told her the pregnancy wasn't viable. She pushed for suppositories and delivered a healthy baby boy.

Obviously the decision is totally up to you. With your past experience I totally get why you are hesitant however, progesterone is one of the easiest problems to fix. If you are bleeding because of low p supplements will only help you achieve a healthy pregnancy. If God forbid your pregnancy is not viable due to other reasons progesterone is not going to prolong it. Either way many Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon for you.Chat Icon

Thank you for all the replies and kind thoughts.

So, the "flow" stopped around 6:30 last night. There was just very minor spotting, looked like leftover blood, not fresh (all day it was bright red and very period like, sorry TMI).
So far, nothing this morning, and the minor cramps are gone. I'm just going to wait and see what my blood results show today and take it from there.

Re: Not sure if right place to post (pregnancy mentioned)

Just wanted to update.

So, I never started the progesterone injections. I stayed on the Crinone (still on it) and no more bleeding. I was released to my OB, who promptly did a sono and saw that I have a very small hematoma, so that was the cause of the bleeding (the RE did not see it on three different sonos). My OB is also not thrilled I was put on the Crinone, but wants me to stay on it now until 10 weeks, just to be safe. I'm 8 weeks, and so far the baby is growing well; I'm just very concerned about the hematoma. Hopefully it disappears soon.

Thank you for all of the advice Chat Icon

Great update! As much as we dislike progesterone it does help. I'm almost 19 weeks and still on it but its a higher dose known as 17P but its to prevent preterm labor and will be on it until my 37th week so sometimes its really no escaping it.
