Noise question....(Long)
Does anyone know the laws/rules about noise in the town of Huntington? If your having a party you must be quiet by 10pm Sunday-Thursday and by 11pm on Friday and Sat. or some one can call the cops on you.
I really want to know about what time in the morning can landscapers start or other things that are loud (garbage pick-up commerical or residential)
I live near a commerical area and every Saturday at 6:15 in the AM a garbage truck comes and picks up the big metal container and dumps it and drops in back down, plus the Garbage truck idles for a while.
Yesterday I spoke to the one business owner but it is not his dumpster.
What can I do about it?

The Town of Huntington has a website, I would start by looking there.

Noise Rules may differ between residential and commericial properties.

Re: Noise question....(Long)
Go back to the website and look under "Town Code" There is something there about loading and unloading of trucks. Do a search under "noise" in the town code and it's there somewhere. It looks like they shouldn't be there earlier than 7am. I was going to copy & paste for you, but then I couldn't access the site again.
This Q&A was also in the Public Safety section of the site:
What can be done about noise from construction, leaf blower, music, dog barking or unreasonable noise in general?
We advise complainant that our office sends a letter citing the Town Code violated. If further action is necessary we open an investigation.

dumpster (garbage) pick up can start at 6am monday-saturday but not past 3pm (that is when the old dump AKA Mt. Trashmore was opened). All I can do is send a letter to the town. As per the guy I spoke to at TOH
