Re: NON TTC Question
Oh boy-where did they send him for an eval? And he agreed?
Legally, I do not believe you have a cause of action, because unfortunately something bad has to happen first.
It sounds like schizophrenia to me-has he made any threatening remarks to anyone? Watch out for that.
Your job did a nice job of covering themselves, and I don't blame you for being concerned.
Try to think if he made any threats, has any weapons, etc. Just his being nuts unfortunately is not enough to work off of.

send him to their medical dept.
that's what I was afraid of, that something bad has to happen first.
I really dont want to wait around for it to happen to me or anyone else
See, we thought it sounded like schizophrenia too.
thanks for responding & for the info !

Re: NON TTC Question
How sad. He definitely is having some sort of mental health episode. He will eventually spiral down to the point that he will need hospitalization unless he is receiving help on an outpatient basis and medication brings him back to more normal thoughts. He probably won't hurt anyone but he might hurt himself if he is confused enough. Don't upset him further by arguing his statements or anything just go with it. Does he have family? His family should eventually recognize something and should be the ones to get him help.

Re: NON TTC Question
If it gets worse and your job will not help and you have no contact with his family you can call the following listed below to ask what to do or if they could help. I cannot find anything like it in Suffolk but there must be one. the nyc one is most known- they may know who you should call if you are outside of nyc.

That is what annoys me about the law. But if he makes any threats, forget the job and go report it to the DA!

Oh, and can you see whether they can send him for a real psych eval, like at a hospital?
