im annoyed...

last week MIL took me out for my birthday b/c she knew this week my parents were coming in, which was very nice of her...dont get me wrong and i appreciated it and thanked her profusely.

but she didnt call at all today to just say happy birthday. Hubby thinks it was b/c she knew my parents were coming and didnt want to interupt. Umm..ok..she couldnt call earlier this morning or early afternoon.? she knew my parents werent coming until 1 and she knows they're always late. (which they were..it was almost 3 by the time they got here..LOL)

So i just made it known to him that if this were me, and i didnt call on her bday even though we took her out the week before, i would be in trouble for that and she would have made it known to you.

and the funny thing is that its her 60th bday coming up in march and i was trying to convince Dh to take her to DC for 2 days to see the first lady exhibit at the smithsonian since he didnt want to throw a family party for her. U know what..he can plan her party.

Diana, I am so sorry you had to deal with that and you have every right to be annoyed.

One of my bridesmaids didn't even call (we are good friends and our birthdays are 3 days apart-guess who wont be getting called!)

And although it was so sweet of MIL to get my a Bloomies g/c, DH has to call HER and then put me on the phone and then it still took her 20 minutes of me making comments about it being my birthday for her to actually say it

I agree with you-what goes around comes around.


Did you at least have a nice birthday? Any good loot?

I know how you feel. My own mother forgot to call me on my birthday this year. She had her DH's family over. When I asked her about it, she said "Well, I'm going to see you in 2 days" Uhm, in 2 days, it's not my bday anymore.

It stinks to be forgotten on y0our bday, I hope she realizes and apologizes

thanks..I got some cool stuff..

the big gift from DH was the pink mini laptop i got for xmas...it was abday/xmas gift.

got me some other little things. we're going to dinner somewhere in Philly next weekend too.

Parents got me the NY rangers shirt i asked for so i can customize it with the most awesome player to ever exist..Messier..LOL
My old one got ruined.

thanks...i was really upset about it yesterday especially DH's reaction about it..i can never win where she's concerned.

It is a whole other ballgame when it comes to men and their mothers.


Sounds like you got some good stuff!just enjoy your weekend with your parents and try not to let it get to you
