Nor really a parenting question, just a post-birth question...
New to this board, just had my little boy last Thursday, 1/21. I had an small episiotomy, and last night, I was out walking my dog and she pulled on the leash at one point when she saw another dog and pulled me a little bit. I felt a slight stinging where my stitches would be, as though it pulled on one of them, or maybe even tore slightly. It was nothing serious or excruciating, but enough to notice. Since then, I have had a small increase in the bleeding (not enough to saturate a pad or anything, just a little more red on it- sorry TMI). Did any of you experience this? Do you think it's something I will need to go to the doc for and have restitched, or could it heal on its own? TIA!!

I didn't have an episiotomy, but I tore when delivering so I had stitches. I felt something similar to what you're describing, but my 'stretch' was from lifting older DS when I wasn't supposed to. The result was slightly more bleeding but it didn't last very long, and the stitches were fine. When do you go back for your check up? Two weeks or Six weeks? If you're concerned, you could always call your provider and see if they could check your healing... GL and congrats on the delivery!

Thanks, thats good to hear- I think the bleeding is already lessening so I am just going to keep an eye on it and if it doesn't stop after another day or two, I'll call my doc. I go back in 6 weeks for my checkup.
