RP from Parenting: Maternity Coat help/question
I'm hoping those who were PG last winter or within the last couple of years can help me.
I will need to purchase a coat for this year as my regular coats will not fit me [they are rather fitted wool coats]...I have no idea what size I should get...I don't want it to be too big and feel lost in it, but since I am already showing at 7 weeks, will the size I am currently be large enough?
What were your experiences with maternity coats and the sizes? I am a small...so will a small coat have enough growing room as likely I will need it from Nov. through March? Any tips/advice is appreciated! Thanks.

Re: RP from Parenting: Maternity Coat help/question
Honestly, I would probably get a large maternity coat. SInc eyou are 7 weeks and the end of winter you will be about 25 weeks...u r definitely going to have to get bigger. The reason I recommend a large is bc if the jackets a little big at least its going over your bulky clothes. If you want it a little bigger go with medium...just not small. You dont want to keep spending and spending on maternity clothes. My size fit me but the belly part didnt close.

Re: RP from Parenting: Maternity Coat help/question
I was preggo in 2005 and due in February. In maternity clothes I normally wore small sized shirts and some mediums. I bought a medium sized Old Navy Maternity coat just to get me through the winter. I bought it off ebay and got a good deal - I found a lot of Gap and Old Navy Coats there. Wasn't extremely stylish but did the trick...I wanted one to wear casual and to work and I wanted a hood for snowy days so it was my best option. I found many maternity coats weren't very warm but I wore it with an old fleece I had and it worked well for me. I wore it for my last 2 months of pregnancy and it fit fine.

Re: RP from Parenting: Maternity Coat help/question
I gave birth in January and had a VERY large belly... check my album for proof! I was typically a small or a medium in maternity clothes and ordered a medium in a coat and it fit me til the end. It was coat from OLd Navy and had some stretch to it.. it was a little puffy too-very hard to describe it... and I only paid about $50.

Gap has maternity coats. They tie so you can kind of have your coat grow with you, and it looks like its wool. Good Luck Image Attachment(s):
