Normal attorney fee?
In regards to the closing costs, what is "average" for the attorney fee??

really depends on the attorney..and the state.
In NY (outside of Manhattan) I'd say the fee averages from $900-$1200.

IMO that's high.
There are plenty of attornies that will charge $1000 or maybe even $900.
And if you are referring to the "bank's attorney" that is on your GFE, thats VERY high. Bank Attorney fees on your GFE should be somewhere around $500-800.
